The Secret to Stress-Free Event Decor.

If you were to choose between (1) setting simple decorations, a DIY one that you will do personally, with only a shoestring budget or (2) hiring professionals to set up grand decorations, which, of course, is costly, but requires no sweat on your part at all, well except maybe if there is no budget, are you choosing a stress-free option?

Most of us would choose the first choice, setting up decorations personally to cut off expenses, because at the end of the event, we get to keep all the materials we bought for the decorations. But I learned this the hard way, experience really is the best teacher, as long as there is a budget, it's better to hire other people to do it. You will save your time and energy, and the outputs turn out to be grander. During the event, you will not look haggard or feel like you've been run over by a truck because you did everything in decorating while other people seem not to care at all.

In every big event of our school, if not all, but most, it is I who is assigned to the stage decorations and the overall set-up coordinator. But based on my experience, which I will not be mentioning here (past is past), for every school event now, I always ask for a budget to hire a professional to prepare the venue for our school events.

So, every event in our school, I have this go-to team whom I always hire because their work made me very happy and content. When I started doing this, work became easier on my part. All I have to do is manage and watch them do their magic work. But of course, before we do that, I always have a discussion with them, what I want, what the event is all about, the motif, and everything.

I so love this decorating team because of the available materials they have. I am always impressed by the details, especially the lights, the flowers, the combination of colors, the glittery background, and the artificial leaves. Everything in it.

I always choose the package of stage decoration, photobooth, and entrance arc, the red carpet, and balloons if they're part of the mix.

With the result, I always find it satisfying to have a setup that speaks volumes for me or the school itself. I learned that a grand set-up or preparation puts the cherry on top of any event. With this, everything is done, it's less hassle and stress-free for us committee members who are assigned to the physical decorations. And the more I learn from it, this added confidence and a much better impression on our guests. This also makes the guest more comfortable and attuned with the event.

So to wrap this blog up, I suggest that if you have the finances, you have the funds, let others do the work. That way, you will not look like a headless chicken during the event due to making and preparing the decorations. You can be your best self and be more confident and radiant because you know you have prepared the best setup.
