  • Who is your favorite fictional character?

This week topic is what is my favorite fictional character his name is GUTS yes its a real fictional character basically a human warrior with amazing power this character is from the manga Berserk written by Kentaro Miura.

The story of Guts is a dark one but bear with me he was born under a tree where the mother hanged herself and he was under the mother in a pool of her mothers blood. He was taken, sold, R@ped, abused, used and became a mercenary killer for hire style. Even though the way he was brought up in a rough place and he seems to always find a way to do better or try to improve his life and others around him.

Guts is mentally broken character obviously by what he has been through he was affected by isolation and solitude people keep saying in the manga that he has been cursed even after all the terrible things being done to him he always finds the will to fight back to right the wrong.

The way he fell in love was one of the emotionally peak moments where he couldn't control his rage due to his childhood trauma so only certain part of his body or certain people are allowed to touch him because the only time he was touched is when someone wants to do something terrible to him but he did found love and this Griffith character made Guts lover become insane due to one of the most disturbing scene in the manga which i cannot share with you here.

  • Why do you like them? What qualities do you share with them?

I like Guts because no matter how much he was abused, how badly his life is he keeps going even though he always losing his mind in the process he never give up even though everything seems useless or there is no point of living he keeps going anyway fight anyway do or die this is his style. He is not like most characters you see today where the man is Stoic no emotions straight violent but Guts is different he is an emotional person and many time. in the manga he fights his depression and loneliness most of the time it was a beautiful read that you must read to understand the story fully.

I know what Guts been through is 10x worse than me but the depression the abuse he go through it is relatable I am sure anyone who read this amazing manga can relate how difficult life can be. Nihilism is not the answer just keep going and see what happens because if you give up nothing will change if you push and work through it either you fail or succeed that is it. If you never try then move do something anything to change your situation that is the quality he has for a broken character. The End.

Sadly the writer of this manga died before he could finish the story so there is no ending in this manga but if you love dark gory fantasy style where you can relate as human beings this is the book for you.
