THANK YOU - IT DOES NOT HURT.

Hello friends of Hive Ghana community. It's another great opportunity to share my experience on this week's prompt.
Growing up was fun for me, I might not have had it all rosy, but I certainly knew how to appreciate both little and big gestures.
I also understood the impact of appreciation right from my childhood,so early in life.

I remembered a scenerio that happened some years ago between I,my aunt and her daughter (my cousin).
On this particular day,my aunt came back from work with three bowls of ice- cream,my cousin and I were so excited, she gave me my share of the ice- cream, I appreciated her,sat down and enjoyed my ice- cream.
She called my cousin, gave her a smaller bowl, she reluctantly collected it ,went to her seat.
My aunt called her back, took the ice-cream from her, gave her instructions to go back to her seat, while she watched us enjoy our ice-cream amidst tears in her eyes.
She could not control her tears again, she went to her mom, knelt down, "Mom am sorry for not saying Thank You".
Her mom, gave her back the ice-cream.

My cousin was angry because she felt she was given a smaller bowl of ice- cream,so she feels her mom has not done enough, hence there was no need to appreciate her mom and that is where greed comes in.
Right from then,if you give my cousin as little as a cup of water, she appreciates it so well.

My second experience is saying "I am sorry".

When I newly got married, I and my husband had an argument, with all honesty he was at fault but you know men will always go with their ego..hahaha.
This argument continued for some minutes,he was trying to cover up his fault and on my own part, I did not agree with him.
Suddenly he just said; "Ok babe I am sorry", and that was it.I became so calm, all my angered nerves became so calm.He does not have to say more than that for the peace to reign but men will always be men.hahaha.

I am always fond of appreciating my children anytime the render help to me.One of my son's asked me; "Mom why do you always appreciate our little help??,and I told him that it's good to always show appreciation to kind gestures no matter how little.
With this my teaching, I am inculcating these attributes in them and they will grow with it.

Saying"Thank You or I am Sorry does not bite, let's appreciate little gestures, they go a long way in our attitudes towards people.

Thanks For Reading.

This is my response to the Hive Ghana Prompt for week 22.

Of course it doesn't hurt, i don't know of anyone who died from being appreciative or showing gratitude to others. We have to make efforts daily to let others know we are appreciative of them or whatever they may have done for us in contributing to our welfare

The magic word "sorry" does so much that a lot of people especially married folks aren't aware of. I have learned to say it when I should, it's not so hard to say and it doesn't has to be difficult for men to say it.
