Lets Do It : Monster Raffle is a GO!

Last week I put a LEO Poll up to see if there was any support for SGS holding another Monster Raffle after years of the big fundraising event being left dormant. We did get 10 positive votes and a bunch of encouraging comments but I wasn’t really convinced that there was enough support there to do a Monster Raffle justice. It was @summertooth who wisely suggested we might need to temper expectations a bit and that mirrors my own thoughts that we need to learn to crawl again before we can walk...

That said I have been legitimately undecided about the whole thing until I read the post from @welshstacker yesterday - Are you ready to Monster Raffle? Why a community initiative is ready to "ROAR" once again..... and I thought….screw it, let just do it and see where the chips fall! We aren’t really going to know how successful it can be until we give it a try and so therefore we must try.

That probably means I should put a formal post out from the @ssg-community account to make the announcement with all the structure and format stuff that people can use as a guide for donating or promoting. At a high level I think it makes a lot of sense to make this new Monster Raffle as similar as possible to the old ones which were so successful. This gives us a bit of continuity (despite the hiatus) and participants can have some confidence that there won’t be any big surprises.

So stay tuned and expect a formal post from @ssg-community next week some time. Exciting days ahead!
