Life is hard.

No one knew how I felt,
I was just one more in that space.
My body was asking for a break,
sitting on that sidewalk,
I only had time to put my humble suitcase aside,
I lowered my head and lost myself in my thoughts,
tears streaming down my face.
My hands clasped together in nervousness,
today I would arrive home empty-handed.
Disappointing those waiting for me at home,
my children...
Life is hard,
today again slaps me in the face,
in other words defeated.
Between my teeth, I asked God for help,
I also asked for strength to go on.
Today I lost the battle,
but my war went on, because I was alive,
tomorrow was another opportunity.
And to go out to look for work,
and bring sustenance for my children.
Thinking about my children
was like receiving an injection of strength
to continue in the battle.

hoy nuevamente me cachetea,
en otras palabras derrotada.
Entre dientes, le pedía ayuda a Dios,
también pedía fuerzas para seguir.
Hoy perdí la batalla,
pero mi guerra seguía, porque estaba viva,
mañana, era otra oportunidad.
Y salir a buscar trabajo,
y llevar el sustento para mis hijos.
Pensar en mis hijos,
era como recibir una inyección de fuerza
para seguir en la batalla.

Life is indeed hard and it keeps getting harder by the day. It really needs a lot of courage and faith to keep going.
I believe things will get better.
A beautiful piece.

Gracias por invitarme, mi querida @blanca56, tu poema me encantó. Lo relevante, ha sido la triste historia, que a pesar de las penurias, nos deja un desenlace esperanzador, y un mensaje contundente. Saludos y mis cariños.😍🤗

Being jobless, no way to take care of your loved ones, not even being able to pay for their food, is the worst thing that can happen to a parent.

Knowing that you can't even afford food and have to go to bed hungry must be a difficult situation for a parent.

For countless people living in poverty or have had unfortunate circumstances, this scenario is a daunting reality. There is a belief among individuals who are most fortunate and others that people with no resources don't want to look for work or better themselves.

I've always known from the people I've come in contact with that this is absolutely untrue. The circle is never-ending like a cesspool that won't drain. A person has to continually look for and grasp onto anything that will help sustain them and provide motivation to keep going in a society that looks down on them.

Thanks so much for sharing a prose that goes deep into the mind of one person, and usually, it's a woman, struggling to stay afloat and keep going for the sake of her children.

Take care and have a good rest of your week.
