Welcome to something new on the blog, this is an introduction to the gambling Sundays series.

Disclaimer

Before I get into it, a little disclaimer 99.9%% of the time gambling is not a way to make money, gamble for entertainment only, Its a good idea to set limits and stick to them, gambling addictions can be very serious so please play responsibly and if you think you may develop a problem it may be best to stay away.

My gambling story
Was never really big on gambling, but I recently found its charm, Like I mentioned gambling is not a way to make money its usually the opposite a way to lose it, however besides the odds how you play has a significant impact on how thigs turn out, it could be the difference between losing a bunch of money or losing a bit and potentially walking away with some winnings and also I think it can serve to teach us more about ourselves and can be a way to train our self control, it's thought setting up limits and sticking to them.

Hive gambling
We got a gambling option here on hive called Krypto gamers my referral link here You can play all the games with HIVE and STEEM however you can also play the classic games with DEC and GAMER.

There is 2 way to play a slow way and a fast way, the slow way is you sign each transaction (every play) a faster way is funding your lighting wallet on the platform, this way can make the gameplay much smoother.

You can see a screenshot from my wallet below, I played 2 games the slow way and then funded my lightning account with 5 HIVE

And below I show you a screenshot of my gameplay with the strategy I try to stick to the Martingale system.

Screenshot_20230817_194635_Hive Keychain-beta.jpg

It's a pretty simple strategy if you lose you double up and try again, I would not recommend this strategy with bets with bad odds, something like this dice game I played is a reasonable option since there is 49% odds of doubling up your bet, however its not without flaw.

gamb.png

Right above I share a chart I made for the classic games using GAMER for the wager(however DEC is the best option but more on that after)

The minimum bet is 1000 GAMER and the max is 1000000 GAMER. this leaves you room to double up 9 times and around a 1% chance you lose a fair bit, since after your 10th consecutive loss you would not be able to double up anymore since 512000 doubled is more than a million, also starting at anything but minimum bet cuts down on your opportunities to escape the loosing streak.

My current status
So far I had some success I did lose some but that was due to not sticking to my strategy and getting a little reckless, once I lost about 60% I just went all out on wild bets similar to how @cryptictruth did in the screenshot below.

cryptictruth.jpg

While doing my thing I noticed a familiar name, I also find this bit interesting watching other people bet, I watched @cryptictruth trying to get super lucky with a 1% odds bet and a 98x payout but looks like lady luck just took around 700 HIVE form him instead.

As you can see gambling on hive is a bit different since our wallets info is public but I think maybe that can be a good thing, can potentially have a bit of social pressure can have a positive impact on the gamblers.

The 5 hive I put in turned into 8 hive and took out, then I ended up adding 20 hive and now its 28 HIVE I had 10 000 DEC but lost it all (60% with reckless Martingale not starting at minimum) I was upset and figured might as well lose it all and so I did the other 40% on a 1% odds like @cryptictruth.
I had around 150 000 GAMER I started with and now its at 413 000.
A bit down but still fun and I will try to be more disciplined next time and must remember, slow and steady wins the race.

Right below is a screenshot of someone's wallet I noticed loosing a fair bit of HIVE, I watched the account drain and interestingly enough this account seems to be only for gambling.

He may have lost a lot but he did make it on the leader board and will get 250K GAMER tokens... not even close to a fraction of what I seen him lose

Anyway this was just an intro its going to be more structured in the future and maybe I will also look into making a gambling club to maybe try and keep folks from developing a problem keeping everyone accountable.

@bitcoinman's bits of wisdom

  • Invest only what you can afford to lose and be mindful of the potential risks.
  • Unless you can accept delivery stay away from futures and stick to physical.
  • Leverage is a great tool for losing money fast.
  • Numismatics for the lows stick to smart stacking baby.
  • Be cautious of new schemes in crypto, like ICOs, DeFi, and NFTs, do your research before investing.

Now this one strikes a chord with me. I use Kryptogamers site quite a bit (or did) and like the, albeit small, dividends and gamer token drop.

Just gotta know when to say when.

Hard pass from me! I'll play Black Jack in casino for fun and usually make money, but in the end the house always wins. Otherwise there would be no Las Vegas!

That's the best more skilled based games and without the house

I like to play dice sometimes. I just use the strategy of doubling the bet on a loss and resetting to minimum on a win. Then I quit if I win too many times in a row so I don't push my luck. haha

(Edited)

That's the strategy I try to use but sometimes it gets boring and I don't stick to it and usually end up losing 🤣 but it's all good I do it for the fun and personal growth and learning, I saw you place just one small bet before on the dice you won but was just one game

I may have fallen asleep. Often I do it before bed, or sometimes in the morning a little before the kids wake up.
