Great responsibility

In the time when spiritism and mysticism was the order of the day, a young man named Caesar happened to be the bridge between mankind and the Astral world.

At the tender age of twelve, he was admitted into the brotherhood of the keepers in charge of mankind.

Caesar would often dream and as he dreamt he was creating worlds unknowingly to him.

As vivid and imaginative as his dreams, so are his thought process. The older Caesar gets, the stronger he became, as he could materialize things just by thinking of it.

While Caesar was a special being, his abilities did not come as an amazement to the people of his time as some of them had their own fair share of extraordinary gifts, and Caesar himself came from the bloodline of the first incarnated human who mastered the act of shape-shifting. These ought to make Caesar a shape-shifter but instead of shape-shifting himself, he uses his mind to transform objects to anything of choice.

At first, Caesar plays around with his abilities as some sort of trick. But soon he became curious, and his curiosity got the best of him as he started exploring other dimensions and ignorantly comes back with dark matters that polluted his Soul.

The more he explores, the more the dark side expands, and the darker earth became.

Humanity soon began to sink into Oblivion with the darkness descending. As it sank, Caesar's dreams changed as he kept having nightmares.

On one of Caesar's nightmare, he was in a small town filled with life and laughter, everyone seem to know themselves as they waved at each other while going about their business.

The children were happily running around the town square playing with their squirt guns, sprinkling water on each other.

The sun shined ever so brightly and the ice cream man was out with his cone of deliciousness and melodious tones.

Caesar stood enjoying the whole scene and wish to be part of it, but he couldn't. He seemed to be like a hologram and people just walked right through him.

Suddenly, the laughter turned to screams, as adults and children ran to take cover from giant monsters.

Caesar was confused and wondered what's going on. Soon the sun went behind the clouds as more beings from another dimension descended from the sky. They were giants whose figures stood as tall as the sky and were identified as the Elohim.

One of the gigantic being, being bald, and silver. The other gigantic being had a helmet on and as he stood, his wings spread out, giving him an angelic look. Another shun gold, while one other reflected diamond. As they stood, their heads were in the cloud.

So this is the rot that disturbs our slumber, the silver being spoke in a thunderous echo referring to the town and its people.

He took one step forward and the whole town shook

The other beings stood in alignment without uttering a word.

Caesar hid in his corner confused, waiting for what unfolds next.

The longer the beings stood contemplating on what to do with humanity, the hotter the air grew and in split seconds, an inferno erupted destroying everyone and everything.

The moment the fire spread to Caesar's hide-out. He woke up panting and sweating profusely as he felt burns and irritation on his face.

He got up to splash his face with some water, that was when he noticed he had sustained some fire burns and bruises. As he panicked, he saw his skin scab over and the bruises healed.

Caesar has never experienced such before, and he knew he had to seek help from the brotherhood.

Ding dong

Caesar's doorbell rang, but he was too overwhelmed to move out of his bed so he projected himself to the door.

Hey Lori, Caesar said smiling as he ushered Lori in. So to what do I owe this visit?

Shaman wanted to know why he couldn't connect with you,the town has gotten worse, and he needs everyone to be fully alert. I thought I come check up on you to see if all is well Lori said as she made her way to Caesars sitting room.

Wait, you are not Caesar, where is Caesar? Lori asked with a creased eyebrow giving off a suspicious look.

Just then Caesar climbed down and joined Lori in the sitting room, with his projected self turning to dust.

Nothing gets past you Lori he said as he reached out to her giving her a squeeze and peck on the cheek.

How many times are we going to talk about you not playing one of your silly tricks on me? Lori asked angrily.

But how do you always get me? Caesar asked as he smiled mischievously.

Lori responded with some sense of pride: I am an eighth dimensional being, surely you know I am higher than you, right?

Caesar fired back: But I am the chosen one so?

You arrogant human Lori said throwing a pillow at Caesar and they both laughed.

Immediately, the earth shook and screams filled the air. As Lori and Caesar squat down to take cover, they both walked out of their body to see what's going on outside. But they were surprised everything was intact, they looked at themselves again this time regaining consciousness at Caesar's apartment.

We need to see Shaman, something is wrong Lori said as she created a portal to the Shaman's lair.

The Shaman is the head of the brotherhood.

At the Shaman's lair, Lori and Caesar was joined by other members of the brotherhood.

What's going on Shaman? Rick asked as he walked in to join the others.

Well, hello to you too Rick, Caesar interrupted as Rick seemed to have ignored everyone when he walked in.

Rick gave Caesar an irritating look and then turned right back to the Shaman.

The Shaman kept quiet for a while, and then said "they are coming".

Wait, whose coming again? Logan asked, sounding lost.

The heavenly beings in my nightmare Caesar said underneath his breath.

What heavenly beings Caesar? Rick asked not having any of Caesar's fooling around.

How long have you been having this nightmares, Lori asked Caesar feeling concerned.

Wait, there's a nightmare? Logan asked again but no one paid him any attention.

You know I knew Caesar would be the death of us all but no one listened, Brut contributed angrily.

This is not the time to argue, we must act quick! Shaman interrupted authoritatively.

What do we do Shaman, Lori asked obviously worried

I say we kill Caesar, I mean he's the only one who knows about the heavenly beings, surely they are following his signals. Logan suggested trying to lighten the mood in the most awkward of ways but no one paid him any attention.

Can we defeat them? Rick asked.

No, we can't. We'd be ashes before we even try Caesar cuts in terrified.

I wasn't talking to you boy, Rick shut Caesar up as he felt he's still a child and not worthy to be in the brotherhood. Most members of the brotherhood felt that way, and they've long pulled out once the Shaman refused to expel Caesar from the brotherhood.

What if Logan is right, what if I'd have to die to stop the beings? Caesar asked the group with traces of fear in his voice.

Listen to me, Lori held Caesar's cheeks: No one is going to die, we can do this, you can do this just believe and ward off fear.

Don't give the boy any more false hope Lori if him dying would save us all, trust me he would die by my hands and would die a Hero. Rick said as he transformed into a two-headed dragon spitting fire.

As the brotherhood prepare to battle the Elohim,Caesar thought really hard on how to salvage the situation.

If the beings are here because of me, surely my presence is a threat to us all.

He thought about all the nightmares and how they all had one thing in common, his presence and annihilation.

He thought about what the Silver Elohim said about being woken up from their slumber.

Caesar started connecting the dots and realized it was him, and the nightmares were not dreams but ultimate realities of the worlds he has created.

For the first time in Caesar's life, he was intentional about using his powers to achieve something. He filled himself up with white light and the accumulated darkness went out of him.

As the darkness goes out of Caesar, the dark clouds became bright and the Elohim found peace. No longer irritated by the darkness Caesar was channeling, they descended back into their slumber and the day was saved.
