Reading or watching movies - LOH #234 [ENG-ESP]

Hi girls, for this week’s contest #234 I’d like to talk about a topic that has a lot to do with what I like, so here we go.

It’s hard to define myself as one or the other because I like both. When I was a teenager I started to like books with mystery and crime stories, my dad had a collection of books by Agatha Christie and those were the books that opened the door to reading, while I was in college I did not have time to read anything that had nothing to do with my career and also when I had the time I dedicated it to be with my friends, but when I started working and I was single with nothing to do at home when I came home from work I returned to reading recreationally. As I said I like mysteries and crime but also adventure like ”The Ninth Revelation “ by James Redfield and novels.

Digital books arrived and at one point I became obsessed with erotic novels and I read the three books of ”50 Shades of Grey “ and then those of ”Ask me whatever you want “, of this saga I read five books and there are seven, I missed the two that are called ”I am Eric Zimmerman “ but I got bored and there ended my time with this type of novels. There are books that I still want to read and I haven’t had the opportunity, the last one I read because I wanted to do it for a long time was ”Los hombres son de Marte, las mujeres de Venus “.

While I studied in high school I had no interest in any classic of Venezuelan literature, but a couple of years ago I read ”Memories of Mamá Blanca “ by Teresa de la Parra and I found it a very sweet book and I wanted to continue with other classics, I wanted to read ”100 years of solitude “ but I have not gotten to read it, yet. And that brings me to the next point and that is that I love watching TV and so I already watched ”100 Years of Solitude “ as a series, and although I would have liked to have read it first I already had an idea of what the story was about and enjoyed the Netflix series.

Lately I spend time watching series and movies, it was not a habit I had as a child but after I got married I started to like it and you can say that currently in my entertainment time I enjoy the seventh art, although I usually use streaming platforms to watch productions whether movies or series. Before I was of little to watch series, I did not like to wait to see another chapter or another season and so I could continue with the story, but since I'm in Hive I started writing about movies and participating in the community, so I read several reviews of series that gradually interested me, until I decided to give a chance to the series and now I see the popular ones, the new ones and I am able to wait eight days for the next chapter and even two years for the next season 🤣. As with books, I also prefer mystery, suspense and crime productions.

So, although I like to read, I also like to watch movies, so it's hard for me to choose one as my favorite and I keep both of them because they have been part of my life.

Hola chicas, para el concurso #234 de la semana me gustaría hablar de un tema que tiene mucho que ver con lo que me gusta, así que aquí vamos.

Es difícil definirme como una o la otra porque me gustan las dos. Cuando estaba adolescente me empezaron a gustar los libros con historias de misterio y crimen, mi papá tenía una colección de libros de Ágatha Christie y esos fueron los libros que me abrieron la puerta a la lectura, mientras estuve en la universidad no me dio tiempo de leer nada que no tuviera que ver con mi carrera y además cuando tenía el tiempo lo dedicaba para estar con mis amistades, pero cuando empecé a trabajar y estaba soltera sin nada que hacer en casa cuando llegaba del trabajo volví a retomar la lectura de manera recreativa. Como dije me gustan los misterios y el crimen pero también la aventura como ”La Novena Revelación” de James Redfield y las novelas.

Llegaron los libros digitales y en un momento me obsesione con las novelas eróticas y leí los tres libros de ”50 Sombras de Grey” y después los de “Pídeme lo que quieras”, de esta saga leí cinco libros y son siete, me faltaron los dos que tienen por nombre “Yo soy Eric Zimmerman” pero me aburrí y ahí terminó mi época con este tipo de novelas. Hay libros que todavía quiero leer y no he tenido la oportunidad, el último que leí porque tenía tiempo con ganas de hacerlo fue ”Los hombres son de Marte, las mujeres de Venus”.

Mientras estudié en el bachillerato no tuve el interés por algún clásico de la literatura venezolana, pero hace un par de años leí ”Memorias de Mamá Blanca” de Teresa de la Parra y me pareció un libro muy dulce y me dieron ganas de continuar con otros clásicos, quise leer ”100 años de soledad” pero no he llegado a leerlo, aún. Y eso me lleva al siguiente punto y es que me encanta ver televisión y entonces ya vi ”100 años de soledad” en serie, y aunque me hubiera gustado haberla leído primero ya tenía una idea de lo que se trataba la historia y disfruté de la serie de Netflix.

Últimamente dedico tiempo viendo series y películas, no era un hábito que tenía de niña pero luego de que me casé empecé a agarrarle gustó y se puede decir que actualmente en mis ratos entretenimiento me deleitó con el séptimo arte, aunque generalmente uso las plataformas de streaming para ver las producciones ya sean películas o series. Antes era de poco ver series, no me gustaba esperar para ver otro capítulo u otra temporada y así poder continuar con la historia, pero desde que estoy en Hive empecé a escribir sobre películas y a participar en la comunidad, por lo que leía varias reseñas de series que poco a poco me interesaron, hasta que decidí darle una oportunidad a las series y ahora veo las populares, las nuevas y soy capaz de esperar ocho días para el siguiente capitulo y hasta dos años para la siguiente temporada 🤣. Al igual que con los libros también prefiero las producciones de misterio, suspenso y crimen

Entonces, aunque me gusta leer, de igual manera también me gusta ver películas, así que me cuesta elegir una como favorita y me quedo con las dos porque han sido parte de mi vida.
