Needlework Your Valentine: Romantic cushion to celebrate the reunion (Eng - Esp)
Greetings yarn and needlework loving community, I wish you had an excellent weekend and may this new week be one of great blessings and success, this time I share my entry to the Needlework Your Valentine! A NeedleWorkMonday Community Contest proposed by @crosheille as part of the Valentine's Day celebration, I think we all like to receive gifts, as it is a token of love and affection from our family and friends, showing how important we are to them.
Initially my Valentine's Day gift was intended for a friend's baby who will be born at the end of the month with God's favor, as fast as I could I sewed the lingerie set for the baby but I was missing some ribbons that I finally didn't use, on the weekend my friend and co-worker told me very excited that she will finally travel out of the country to meet her husband, who had to emigrate from the country and for various reasons she had not been able to travel, she asked me to sew a special project that identifies her with her husband and her long awaited reunion.

A NeedleWorkMonday Community Contest propuesto por @crosheille en el marco de la celebración del día de san Valentín, creo que a todos nos gusta recibir obsequios, pues es una muestra de cariño y afecto de nuestra familia y amigos, diciendo lo importante que somos para ellos.
Inicialmente mi obsequio de san Valentín estaba destinado a la bebé de una amiga que nacerá a finales de mes con el favor de Dios, lo más rápido que pude cosí el set de lencería para la bebé pero me faltaban algunas cintas que finalmente no usé, el fin de semana mi amiga y compañera de trabajo me comentó muy emocionada que finalmente viajará fuera del país a reunirse con su esposo, quien tuvo que emigrar del país y por diversas situaciones ella no había podido viajar, me pidió que cosiera un proyecto especial que la identifique con su esposo y su esperado reencuentro.
My friend's request was a red cushion decorated with a green heart and two doves in the heart, I did not understand why green color for the heart, but I was attentive to her explanations and specifications of the cushion, after thinking about how I would do the project I looked for the materials I had available and I got down to work.

El pedido de mi amiga fue un cojín rojo decorado con un corazón verde y dos palomas en el corazón, no entendí el porque color verde para el corazón, pero estuve atenta sus explicaciones y especificaciones del cojín, luego de pensar en como haría el proyecto busqué los materiales que tenía disponible y me puse manos a la obra.
Para este proyecto usé:
Tela dacrón roja
Dopiovelo verde claro
POP turquesa
Manta polar blanca
Lápiz
Alfileres
Guata
Tijeras
Marcador
Máquina de coser
Cierre mágico (Velcro)
Cintas
I started by marking the heart and the dove pieces, then I cut only the dove pieces and sewed facing the back all the way around using zig zag stitch, at this point I had a little difficulty sewing the curves of the dove wings, I unpicked and continued sewing as slowly as possible to work the curves better, so I could finish the zig zag stitching without any more problems.
The heart was made with dopiovelo and POP for the lining, I sewed with straight stitch following the mark of the mold and cut the excess fabric with scissors and zig zag for a better finish.
Inicié marcando el corazón y las piezas de las palomas luego corté solo las piezas de las palomas y cosí enfrentando el revés por todo el contorno usando puntada de zig zag, en este punto tuve un poco de dificultad al coser las curvas de las alas de la paloma, descosí y continué cosiendo lo más lento posible para trabajar mejor las curvas, así pude terminar sin más contratiempos la costura de zig zag.
El corazón lo hice con dopiovelo y POP para el forro, cosí con puntada recta siguiendo la marca del molde y corté el exceso de tela con tijera de zig zag para un mejor acabado.
The next step was to make the cushion, I cut two rectangles and sewed along the contour facing the right sides and leaving an opening to turn over, after turning over I repeated and decorated with white and green ribbons.
El siguiente paso fue hacer el cojín corté dos rectángulos y cosí por el contorno enfrentando los derechos y dejando una abertura para voltear, luego de voltear repisé y decoré con cintas blanca y verde.
Moving forward in the project I made openings in the back of the dove pieces and the front of the cushion, filled with batting, then with hand stitch I closed the openings and sewed a magic closure rectangle in each opening, also on the cushion and in the heart to stick it to the cushion and the doves to the heart.
Avanzando en el proyecto hice aberturas en la parte trasera de la piezas de las palomas y parte delantera del cojín, rellené con guata, luego con puntada a amano cerré las aberturas y cosí un rectángulo de cierre mágico en cada abertura, también en el cojín y en el corazón para pegarlo al cojín y las palomas al corazón.
The last step was to glue the wings, eyes and paint the beak to the doves. I also added a bow to each dove and that's how I assembled the cushion. The advantage of using magic closure is that the pieces can be removed and washed separately from the cushion. ; When I assembled the cushion, I sent a photo to my friend and she was very happy with the result. In the next few hours, she will spend the next few hours looking for her special cushion to start her trip.
El último paso fue pegar las alas, los ojos y pintar el pico a las palomas, también agregué un lazo a cada paloma y así armé el cojín, la ventaja de usar cierre mágico es que se pueden retirar las piezas y lavar por separado del cojín; armado el cojín le envié una foto a mi amiga y se puso muy feliz con el resultado en las próximas horas pasará buscando su cojín especial para emprender su viaje.
I feel happy to have finished this project. It looks very good and contains the essence of what each of the elements means to my friend. The green heart means the hope and promise she kept in reuniting with her husband. The white doves represent her. to her and her husband, who although they are in different countries are going to meet again and renew their vows, it is also a reminder of their marriage; Since the cushions they used were two doves, the red color of the cushion is the love that remains despite the distance when there is faith and hope.
It is the first time that I make a green heart and I was not sure of the result, because regularly or by tradition the most used color for them is red, but trying another color also produces good results and in this case it is a personal issue where each Color has meaning and sentimental value, I wish with all my heart that my friend has a happy trip and can reunite with her husband to renew their vows and start a new stage together.
Me siento feliz de haber terminado este proyecto se ve muy bien y contiene la esencia de lo que significa cada uno de los elementos para mi amiga, el corazón verde significa la esperanza y promesa que mantuvo en reunirse con su esposo, las palomas blancas la representan a ella y su esposo, que aunque están en diferentes países van a reunirse nuevamente y renovar sus votos, además es un recordatorio de su matrimonio; ya que, los cojines que usaron eran dos palomas, el color rojo del cojín es el amor que permanece a pesar de la distancia cuando hay fe y esperanza.
Es la primera vez que hago un corazón verde y no estaba segura del resultado, porque regularmente o por tradición el color más usado para ellos es el rojo, pero probar con otro color también produce buenos resultados y en este caso es un tema personal donde cada color tiene significado y valor sentimental, deseo de todo corazón que mi amiga tenga un feliz viaje y pueda reunirse con su esposo para renovar sus votos e iniciar juntos una nueva etapa.
