Since I saw the theme of the contest several ideas came to my mind; hat, headband, bed, towel and finally a dress, after deciding on a dress, I did not know how to put it on her body, it should be something comfortable that does not bother her little legs and allows her to walk without difficulty, at this point the best option was a dress with three layers of fabric crumpled and a ribbon to hold her to her shell on one side, because if I hold her on the bottom she can not walk well, once the idea and the work plan was finalized I got down to work.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y la agujas les deseo un feliz y bendecido lunes, me siento feliz de compartir mi entrada al Needle Work Your PET Contest!, en casa tenemos una tierna Morrocoya llamada Saharon, llegó a nuestras vidas hace tres años fue un regalo de mi madre para mi hijo, desde que llegó ha sido nuestra consentida, le ubicamos un área para comer, beber agua y dormir, le gustan los espacios oscuros para su comodidad hemos construido túneles con cajas donde puede disfrutar la oscuridad y descansar las muchas siestas que hace al día; a la hora del almuerzo sale a buscar su porción, le gusta comer lechuga, arroz salteado con vegetales, espagueti y frutas.
Desde que vi la temática del concurso se me vinieron varias ideas a la mente; sombrero, diadema, cama, toalla y finalmente un vestido, luego de decidirme por un vestido, no sabía como ponerlo en su cuerpo, debía ser algo cómodo que no moleste sus patitas y le permita caminar sin dificultad, en este punto la mejor opción fue un vestido con tres capas de tela arruchadas y una cinta para sujetarla a su caparazón por uno de los lados, porque si la sujeto en la parte de abajo no podrá caminar bien, concretada la idea y el plan de trabajo me puse manos a la obra.
Sharon is usually very quiet but this time she was very restless to take the measurements of the dress it took me more than 20 minutes, she did not stop walking, she was just still for a few seconds and I took the opportunity to measure, then I moved forward with the cut of the fabric strips in various colors, I ironed each strip and proceeded to sew making planks in the first layer of the dress, in this part I had a little difficulty because the length of the base fabric of the dress is 18 cm and it costs a little to make planks in such a small space; for the second and third layers I sewed by hand each strip and carefully gathered until the length of the fabric was covered, then I sewed with a straight stitch placing one layer under the other.

Ya pegadas las capas del vestido, el siguiente paso fue pegar la pretina o cinta para amarrar el vestido al caparazón de Sharon sin afectar su movilidad, en este caso una de las tiras es más larga, pasa por la parte baja del caparazón y se amarra a un lado donde una cinta más pequeña une el vestido y le da una hermosa forma donde se aprecian las telas y sus diferentes estampados, para verificar la medida de la pretina intenté probarla a mi modelo Sharon y no pude estaba muy inquieta, la bañé le di agua, comida y la dejé que recorriera la casa a ver si se calmaba, al cabo de varios minutos vino tranquila le probé la pretina y quedó un poco corta, agregué varios centímetros de tela y resuelto el largo de la pretina; pegar la pretina me tomó más tiempo porque mi hermosa Sharon no quería que la molestaran je, je.

Para darle un toque más delicado al vestido añadí un lazo, corté dos rectángulos de tela rosa, coloqué la guata debajo, cosí por todo el contorno, luego hice una pequeña abertura en el centro volteé la pieza y puse una cinta de color fucsia en el centro del lazo, lo pegué en el centro de la pretina y me gustó mucho esta combinación de colores, se ve delicada y muy linda para mi Sharon, es la primera vez que coso un vestido para ella, ya tiene su estreno para el 24 de diciembre, ahora debo hacerle un nuevo atuendo para fin de año; en otras ocasiones le he hecho los gorros navideños para la foto familiar, este año no usará gorros, las fotos serán diferentes a los años anteriores ya que usará vestidos la consentida de la familia.

Terminado el vestido vino el verdadero reto, tomarle las fotos a Sharon con su nuevo atuendo, esta fue una prueba de paciencia, cada vez que le ponía el vestido caminaba muy rápido, con ayuda de mi hijo pudimos tomar varias fotos mientras caminaba, se ve muy linda y tierna con su vestido, estoy muy feliz y emocionada por haber hecho un nuevo atuendo con mucho amor y cariño para Sharon la mascota que llegó a nuestro hogar y queremos mucho, cada vez que viajamos ella va con nosotros, también merece disfrutar las vacaciones y conocer nuevos lugares.
