Hello, beautiful Ladies of Hive community!

This is your Chiky from Havana, checking in with lots of energy and ready to participate in contest number 236. The questions this week are amazing, so I got comfy, grabbed my glass of soda, and started writing from the heart.

Question 1: When was your last vacation?
Share photos of that unforgettable trip. If you haven’t traveled, tell us what your dream trip would be and where you would go.

Oh my goodness… vacations! Just hearing the word gets me excited. I’ll tell you, the last time I stepped out of my daily routine was a little escape to El Pilón, that magical corner in Havana where my Pocho and I sit down with a cold Cristal beer, some micheladas, and talk about life like problems don’t exist. It wasn’t far, but it was special.

Now, if we’re talking about my dream trip, get ready! I imagine myself landing in Spain, walking through the little streets of Seville, eating tapas with a glass of wine... or maybe getting lost on a beach in Greece, wearing my favorite black dress blowing in the breeze. And of course, Pocho by my side.

Question 2: What kind of food do you prefer?
Are you on the healthy team or do you prefer junk food? Or do you strike a balance between the two?

To be honest, I’m torn. I love fresh fruit, natural juices, and mango-and-cucumber salads… buuut, when a street cart goes by with hot croquettes or a corner pizza, I melt! So let’s just say I keep a delicious balance: Monday through Friday I behave more or less well, and on the weekends, I treat myself.

Also, living in Cuba is a challenge: you eat what’s available, and sometimes your body asks for things that aren’t exactly healthy, but they sure are delicious. You’ve got to be creative, even in the kitchen!

¡Holaaaaaa, comunidad bella de Ladies of Hive!

Aquí está su Chiky desde La Habana, reportándose con mucha energía y ganas de participar en el concurso número 236. Esta semana las preguntas están buenísimas, así que me puse cómoda, agarré mi vasito de refresco y me lancé a escribir desde el corazón.

Pregunta 1: ¿Cuándo fue tu última vacación?

Comparte fotos de ese viaje inolvidable. Si no has viajado, cuéntanos cómo sería tu viaje ideal y a dónde irías.

Ay mi madre… ¡vacaciones! De solo oír la palabra ya me da emoción. Te cuento que la última vez que salí de la rutina fue una escapadita a El Pilón, ese rincón mágico en La Habana donde mi Pocho y yo nos sentamos con una Cristal bien fría, unas micheladas, y hablamos de la vida como si no existieran los problemas. No fue lejos, pero fue especial.

Ahora, si hablamos de mi viaje ideal, ¡prepárate! Yo me imagino aterrizando en España, caminando por las callecitas de Sevilla, comiéndome una tapa con una copa de vino… o quizás perdiéndome en una playa en Grecia, con mi vestido negro favorito ondeando con la brisa. Y Pocho a mi lado, claro.

Pregunta 2: ¿Qué tipo de comida prefieres?
¿Eres del equipo saludable o prefieres la comida chatarra? ¿O mantienes un equilibrio entre las dos?

Mira, te soy honesta: yo tengo el corazón dividido. Me encantan las frutas frescas, los jugos naturales, mis ensaladas con mango y pepino… peeeero, cuando pasa un carrito con croquetas calientes o una pizza de esquina, ¡me derrito! Así que digamos que mantengo un equilibrio sabrosón: de lunes a viernes me porto más o menos bien, y el finde me doy mis gusticos.

Además, vivir en Cuba es un reto: uno come lo que aparece, y a veces el cuerpo te pide cosas que no están tan saludables, pero sí bien ricas. ¡Aquí hay que ser creativa hasta en la cocina!
