Shishir Veza Path

The story begins with the life of a couple. They lived in a village and they were very close to each other from their childhood and everyone in the village knew about them. The name of the boy is Likhon and the girl's name is Lira. They loved and trusted each other. Likhon’s family was rich than Lira’s family. But that didn’t ever make them apart. Likhon used to work with his father in his business.

Sometimes he used to go outside of the village for work at Dhaka city. Once Likhon went to Dhaka for 1 month but he did not come back. This is a story from a time when the phone was very rarely used. Nobody from the village could trace his location. Lira and Likhon’s family was having a bad feelings.

On the other side Likhon was gaining his sense and found himself on the floor and it was on the balcony side of the hospital. His full body was covered with bandages and he could barely move. When he was going back from Dhaka he remembered that his bus was hit by a truck. Then the doctor came and told him that he was in a critical condition and 3 bags of blood were needed to provide him and he was not in his sense for 20 days. Likhon now could understand why he was lying on the balcony side because he was in a government hospital.

Likhon was trying to remember his lover and felt like maybe he could never see her again. But after 10 days he was released from the hospital and went back to his village. Everyone in the village was very shocked to see him and some people already thought that he had died. Then he went to his family and when Lira heard about his arrival she ran desperately to see him. Then she started to cry after seeing Likhon. She asked him ” What happened to you? Why there are bandages on your body?” Then Likhon explained what had happened and he was thinking of Lira every moment and he was only alive to see his lover for once and when his mind was telling him to give up he would remember her face and it would give him the courage to stay alive.

Then Lira started to take care of him and Likhon’s family was happy to see her helping because they knew about their relationship. 4 months passed Likhon was not recovering from the sickness he used to have a fever and cold continuously. He could barely eat and he was losing his weight day by day. lira talked to his father about it and informed a doctor about it and the doctor asked for 3 tests. When the test result came doctor informed his father that he got AIDS. Likhon’s father could not believe it and didn’t want to believe that it was true. The doctor suggested that this could have spread in many other ways because there are many reasons not only because of sexual intimacy. This infection can spread also by transferring infected blood.

When Likhon came to know about his illness he got very upset Lira was at her house and Likhon went there and asked her to believe him. While talking Lira stopped Likhon and said he did not have to explain anything she trusted him. After that, he got relief that his lover was with him and said that he would be happy even if he died now.

Likhon was infected with AIDS this news spread in the village and everyone started to blame his character that he must have done the wrong deeds with another girl. Every in the village was not literate they used to think if they got near him then they would also be infected. That’s why everyone in the village started to ignore him and his family. They won’t bother to talk or look at them, this thing was making feel Lira bad about the situation. Even after taking care of Likhon for 2 months continuously his health did not recover then she decided to do something to prove his innocence.

Then she went to the same hospital where Likhon was admitted and she took the job at the hospital as a cleaner. After 6 months of working she managed to build a good relationship with the workers. Then she somehow managed to bring out the list where Likhon was donated bags of blood by 2 people and the blood was provided without doing any tests. Then she realised one of them was HIV positive and she was in tears because she knew her lover would never betray her. Lira went to the village with the proof but the day she went there Likhon died. Lira started to show the proof to everyone and started saying that her lover was never guilty he was innocent. This ending got me very emotional.

The story was about two true lovers, when you love someone then you can go against the world to prove your love right and people consuming misconceptions about HIV.
Many people think that HIV spreads only due to sexual intimacy but in a few hospitals doctors do not test the blood and use it on other patients and it could result in AIDS. This story has created an awareness of my safety and protection and changed my perspective on life.

Wow. Such a wonderful story. 💖 It just shows how relationships need trust. And it shows how Lira and Likhon maintained it until the end.

Greetings @ayamihaya The story has a sad ending, but life is like that, a journey with a beginning and an end, very nice that the girl demonstrated the innocence of her beloved.
