Facing various types of Scammers on Web2
I have seen many scammers due to my growth on web2 and those scams are increasing more day by day through the internet. People are getting scammed on online more than in real life, It’s because the technology is developing scammers are also levelling up. They are finding alternative ways to scam. There are various types of online scams such as collaboration, free trial, advertisements on your social media, bogus emails those are one of the most common things to scam with.
There is bad side and good side on these popular social media platforms. The bad side is the scamming and those online scams are unique and each new scam is more clever than before which is sometimes believable. One of the most recent web2 Facebook scams is known clickbait scam. Another method is through offering a tempting offer such as huge amount of dollars for free I have promote their products through my social media page or Instagram.
These fraudsters always prey on our desires and try to show that they are real. Like who does not want a offer where they have to do less effort and earn money of big amount easily. I have seen some people getting scammed or their account gets hacked. They don’t even discuss with others to get the validation. Because they don’t others to rise or get the same offer they want to only have it for themselves and this greed for money and selfishness causes them to lose their social media they get hacked or get scammed with the amount of money.
I am a gaming content creator on web2 so, there I have plenty of accounts such as on Facebook, Twitter & instagram. I have received many messages and emails that they are offering me a big amount of dollars and I have to do nothing. Sometimes they do add requirements that I have to do because I might doubt about why they would do it for free so they would ask me to do some tasks.
Here you can see they want to scam my page on Facebook so they are offering me that I have to run a advertisement of theirs on my page and pay me every week for that. The scammer didn’t add much details over here.
As you can see in these screen shots they have offered me $1,800 and $5,000 for only advertisement.
This time they want me to verify like they would provide me a website which looks exactly like Facebook and they want me to login there. So, that they can hack my account which has the admin and have my page.
Mine is a gaming page and they are offering me these and those scammers don’t know about the category I am in they are just randomly giving me offers with new emails with new options.
When everything failed they have studied about me and now they are offering me to try their free games. I would never click on any type of link. Yeah, I am a gamer but it doesn’t mean I am dumb. I have never got any kind of scam offers in real life because I am only available in social media.
Not only of Facebook but also on Instagram they are trying to get my account. They are always referring link so no matter what even if it looks real I would never do it. One mistake will make me feel regret forever. No one has ever warned me about those scams but somehow I understood by my own or maybe I don’t have any greed that’s why. They want to have my social media accounts because I have many followers and they want to get benefits from it.
There is always a way to avoid these scams:
- Do not ever click on any suspicious links or videos which will take you to another website.
- If you receive a strange message from your family members or friends through social media then get in touch with them in real life for assurance.
- If you receive an email that your social media account or Facebook page or Instagram or any other platform you are using might be deleted or was hacked and asking you to log in directly through the link provided in the email then ignore it.
- Most important must check your account’s settings regularly and try to change passwords often like create a strong password and set up two factor authentication on your account. Moreover, never let other people know about your personal informations.
Stay safe and aware of your surroundings even on HIVE one must never ever share their password or keys with any person even though they are trusted person, no one ever knows who will backstab them. Keep private informations in a safe place where only you can get access. Like I have saved my informations in my diary which I always keep in a safe place in my room and it’s the safest place or you can also keep it in your phone there is notepads where you can copy and paste easily but make sure that you don’t paste it in a wrong place from where someone can steal your account.

The web 2 platforms is now a he for scammers, everyday you come across different styles and if not careful enough you fall prey.
That's true scammers are seen mostly in the web2 platforms also the authority does not take action against it.
You're very smart. Someone who's not careful enough would have fallen prey to this scammers and their mouth watering offers. The steps you outlined here are really helpful in protecting ones account information, and staying off these scammers.

Too bad, there are so many scammers these days and they are increasing day by day, it's just very painful.
Robbing people of their hard earned money is very bad.
Imagine so many scammers after your account, the account that you've worked so hard to build.

Nobody is safe from online scams and only a single click can be enough to be a victim of scams. Sometimes I also get some messages in the mail and I just ignore those. In your case, you receive too much maile because of being a gamer. You are smart and know-how to deal such kind of thing.

One should beware of suspicious links and not click on any they aren't familiar with. Scammers would come to you bringing sweet offers for you to fall into their traps. At first, they tell you that you will only invest and your capital will start yielding returns for you. Once we fall, that is the end. So many accounts have been hacked because of this.
