Making Yoshinoya Sambal with Freshly Harvested Chilies
Hello everyone,
What would you do if you had chili plants at home? It must be very exciting, because chili is a very unique food ingredient. Why is it unique? Because chili is not a staple food ingredient, but if chili is not in the dinner plate, then the food tastes very bland. But yes, this is a tradition, where Indonesians like spicy food, chilies are important in the food chain.
Chili is one of the plants that is difficult to care for, the treatment is quite deep and the process is long in growing chili. That's why chilies are like orchids, even chilies are synonymous with high prices. The price of chili is also quite volatile, even chili is more expensive than the price of chicken meat. That's why chili is highly valued.
We as a family have started to live in harmony with nature, where we have started growing vegetables in a mini garden that can meet our family's needs. In fact, planting is also our top priority to be able to move actively and also be happy. You know, that gardening has a positive impact on the quality of life, not only being able to meet food needs, but also the pleasure of our minds.
It's been 3 months since I started planting chilies, actually I don't post too much about this, you know, growing chilies for me is quite difficult. I have made a journal about planting chilies several times, but the results always fail. But this time, I manage to grow chili very well, we have even harvested and are enjoying the results.
You can see how happy I am with the chilies I have in my garden, some of which I have pick and the result I make into an incredibly delicious dish. The process doesn't betray the results, right?
This time, I cook this chili into a delicious dish, a simple recipe for entertaining the family for lunch. I have some yoshinoya meat and I will make it a delicious and nutritious meal, at least this is one of my husband's favorite dishes. Sambal, very synonymous with Indonesia.
This recipe is inspired by the Minang people's dendeng balado, but it doesn't have to be difficult to cook the meat into jerky, yoshinoya is already very soft if it's just in a regular stir fry, without having to go through a long process like Minang beef jerky.
Using several ingredients such as 100 gr chili, 5 shallot cloves, 150 gr yoshinoya beef, 50 gr butter, 50 ml vegetable oil.
I sauté the yoshinoya beef in butter, then drain the remaining oil. Then I make chili sauce from chilies and onions that have been mashed by grinding or in a blender, then sautee in vegetable oil.
After the sauce is ready to be sautéed, then add the Yoshinoya meat into the cooked sauce and stir until evenly distributed.
Yoshinoya chili sauce is ready to be served.
See you the next time hive friends!
