Line Clear Nasi Kandar, The Cheapest Food in Penang That is Most Worthy

The Hidden Gems

incollage_save.jpeg

Stop for a while at a hidden gem in the city of Penang which is famous for its various kinds of delicious and cheap food. One thing I like in the neighboring country, Malaysia, is that they have the best food menu that I can't refuse. Is about Nasi Kandar.

What is the meaning of nasi kandar? I don't know whether 'Kandar' is the name of the city, the name of the person or the inventor of this food menu. What is clear is that what I know is about a food menu with lots of rice, delicious taste and cheap.

Walking around the city of Penang is very short, because this city is very small, even a day by bicycle, you will be able to discover interesting things in this city. with the bicycle that I was riding, I found an interesting street food in a small alley which could be said to be my best discovery in this city. This small alley is right in the middle of the city, Georgetown and close to the heritage place which is the pride of this city. Almost all public transportation passes through this road, because there are also many hotels and tourist spots here. Line Clear Nasi Kandar has been around since 1930, quite a long time and is stable, almost all tourists know this place. one of recommended places for enjoying Malaysian food.

Line Clear Nasi Kandar Sign

You'll know with just one small banner like this. the writing is small enough to be seen from the side of the road, so don't miss it. The sign points to a small alley in which tables, chairs, glass display cases (food places) are arranged and is busy with people.

Shortly after entering you have to look for your own table to get the place you want. then, you are given a menu which makes you confused enough to choose the menu. Then I just ordered 3 menus, for myself. It's enough to make me full, so I can even skip dinner for today.

The Menu That I Choose

There are 3 menus that I chose for today. All three are foods that are very rare in Indonesia. Normal parata (without meat/chicken), Chicken Murtabak and a glass of Tarik tea with ice. The food was enough to make my stomach very satisfied, with the taste and portions being quite large. This time, without traveling friends, I really enjoyed large portions of food.

Of the three menus, what I like the most is, these three! Yes, I can't rate all the food, however, I am really very satisfied. Very soft parata with curry sauce and a sauce full of spices that made me not stop tearing apart the parata bread. Then with chicken murtabak which is filled with minced chicken stuffed with full onions, then the murtabak skin which when bitten is very crunchy and a little chewy.

Plus a glass of tea with ice really completes this meal. A sip of this pulled tea is really very soft, sweet but not too sweet, cold because it's full of fresh ice cubes!

Other Menus

While waiting for my food to arrive, I saw the glass display case full of the food they were selling. Everything really made me really want to taste it all, but I realized that my stomach wasn't big enough to eat it all.

There are curry fish head, giant tiger prawn, chicken masala, fried chicken, nasi kandar, basmati rice, mutton biryani, plain biryani and many more. It's really full of color, coconut milk and spices. If I had to choose, almost all of the menus would make me very tempted. I should come here again to try other menus.

There are many workers at Nasi Kandar Line Clear, in fact they are very friendly and serve the food very well. I didn't wait long to get the menu I ordered, it only took a maximum of 7 minutes.

Try to come to the line clear nasi kandar, I only spent 14.5 Malaysian ringgit, around 3 ringgit and I can be very full to finish the entire meal including a cup of iced Tarik tea.

See you the next time hive friends!

I love how that food looks but I would have ordered more because I don't think I would have filled myself up with so little and even less if I'm cycling around town 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow, all that food looks like stuff I've never tasted, there's not even anything like this in Argentina. Your three dishes look like a lot of food, glad you were able to finish it all. I would be encouraged to try it without hesitation, it's always good to share the traditions of other cultures.

Greetings, have a great day 💕.
