Hello everyone,
It was beyond expectations, that the water spinach harvest this time was really very enjoyable. How very pleasant, that many water spinach are attacked by pests due to bad weather. As a result, all the water spinach grown will not be sold in batches this time, it is quite a loss and very annoying.

But, it wouldn't be fun if all the water spinach was just for eating alone. Really, I won't be able to eat 10 kg of water spinach for the whole family, and all the kale has to be harvested because the other seedlings will go into the hydroponic box to make up for the time left behind. Nearly 80% of the water spinach we plant will be given to some of our neighbors, family and closest friends.

For this reason, I should be grateful that this water spinach can be useful for other people even though it doesn't make money. Hopefully in the next batch, no pests will attack and we can harvest maximum quality. I expected more than that LOL.

Well, for that, I will also make this water spinach into a special food. waterspinach is a vegetable that is very easy to cook and has a great taste. Who doesn't like water spinach? Wow, it's best sautéed with lots of garlic, especially with some compliments.

Water spinach or Kangkong with shrimp paste seems very tempting, can be used as a side dish for lunch today. How delicious it would be if eaten with warm rice and fried tempeh, just thinking about it makes my mouth watery. I have to make it quickly so that it can be eaten by all family members.

Well, I thought there were lots of water spinach shrimp paste recipes on several platforms, but this time it's really very different and a simple recipe that's really fun. You can even cook water spinach with your eyes closed, LOL.


The Recipe Of Kangkong Terasi

With some chilies that we have at home too, we also have a chili tree that only has a few pots, I made it into a dish that is liked, desired and enjoyed. Water spinach shrimp paste which uses the very famous North Sumatran shrimp paste. This shrimp paste is usually sold a lot in traditional markets. My mother in law likes shrimp paste stock which is delicious in the refrigerator, if you want to make it into delicious food it will be very easy.

Some simple ingredients such as;

  • 500 grams of water spinach that has been harvested, cut and washed clean
  • 30 gr of hailei shrimp paste
  • 5 pcs red chilies and 5 pcs cayenne pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 red onions
  • 1 pcs tomato
  • Fish sauce, salt and sugar
  • 300 ml of water

How to make Kangkong Terasi;

  • All ingredients except water spinach and tomatoes, are pureed using a blender. Shrimp paste is also included in it so that it diffuses and the taste comes out. You can add mushroom, if you like, but I just kept it simple recipe. The recipe is a little spicy, but if you don't like use chili, then reduce the cayenne pepper a little.

  • Heat 2 tablespoon of cooking oil, then saute all the puree ingredient for a while, about 2-3 minute, so that the mashed ingredient can cook perfectly and make the stir fry not emit an unpleasant aroma.

  • After that, I put the clean water spinach into the stir fry spices, then stir until the water spinach starts to wilt. Add 300 ml of water to get the perfect texture for cooking water spinach.

  • Add salt, sugar and a little fish sauce, but if you don't have it, you can skip it. Then leave it for 5 minute so that the kale can be eaten deliciously.

  • Shrimp paste kangkong stir fry is ready to be served.
