Splinterlands Art Contest - Week 283 - Mimosa Nightshade

Good morning, folks. It's a little bit early in the day for me, but I'm so excited to have finished this piece and couldn't wait to share it with everyone here, so here we are.

This week I picked Mimosa Nightshade to draw and never did I imagine that she'd turn out like this. I tried to focus on her magic balls and hair, so the general color palette is something similar to those parts of her.

The Process

The Background

The background's color was also inspired by the purple magic in her hands, but I made the color even darker so her hair (being all white) would be more prominent.

Background Improvement

After I was done with this basic implementation of the background, I felt like it was a little bit too plain and simple, so I added those "star-looking" lights in the back and made them like flares (combined with her glowing red eyes, it gives off the feeling as if she's conjured those lights and is about to initiate an attack using her telepathic energy balls.

The Result

Last, but not least, I gave her hair some glows that were made from her magical orbs and I think it fits well with the background and all... Hope you enjoyed this week's submission, until next week's, cheers~~~
