Rada Quest Art Contest - Daeshi (Blue Shadow)

Hi there, everyone. I hope you're having a wonderful day. The other day I stumbled upon this post by the official Rada Quest game account on Hive (@radaquest). I dug a little and it seems to be an interesting TCG game on the wax blockchain. I haven't tried it for myself, but I look forward to doing so when I get the time off. The post promoted an (fan)art contest of the cards currently in the game and I highly recommend you all to give article a read here.

With that being said, let's have a closer look at the process of my entry below...

The Process

Dual Lighting

One of the more interesting parts of drawing this piece for me was the fact that there are two differently-colored light sources on the subject. Not only did I have to adjust the shades and glows to properly portray the parts illuminated by the light, but I also had to figure out what colors to use to address either the red or blue light on her skin - which was a first and interesting experience for me.

Locked in a Cage

I changed the background into a mesh-like structure to portray the sense of isolation and being trapped inside a cage with this lunatic.

The Result

In the end, I gave the painting some blood splatter effect as a finishing touch as if she's just cut open her next victim >:D
