The 100-Day Project, Day 64 — Finishing, and More Small Stones

Welcome to Day 64 of the 100-Day Project!

Still hanging in there, although I can feel a definite lull in my creativity. I have studied this in the past and it is often around the full moon when my creative juices flow the slowest.

I have started making more of these stones with what appears to be a central star design. They are quite eye-catching.

Primary task today was continuing with the finishing work on the stones that are out in the garage. Got the backs lacquered yesterday, and doing the fronts today. Hopefully they will be done before sundown.

Then they get to sit out there for 2-3 days for the finish coat to completely harden and dry, after which they get to come in and get bagged with their appropriate enclosures and then we will be all done!

As I continue to try to locate and paint on some more small stones, I came to realize one of the main reasons I have a loe-hate relationship with events is precisely small stones. The thing we sell the most most of are the small under $10 items, but they are also the ones that are the most boring and repetitive to make.

The illusion of a 12-pointed star in the center is not due to the absence of paint, but because there is a design in black on black feeling the negative space.

Day 64 Stone Painting:

I spend some time going through my bins of unpainted stones, and had only very little success in locating any more small stones.

That means that I am definitely going to have to make a beach trip to one of our local beaches and try to find some more, that is if I want to be better stock than I am for the event in early May.

Five tiny stones, painted today.

In the meantime, I managed to find five small stones in my stuff, and got those painted. They are pictured above.

Day 64 Summary and Social Media Bits:

I suppose today was pretty fair: Still not feeling very inspired, but did get the five small stones done. And some finishing work. There are things I need to order for the show, but I have no money, so looking for workarounds.

Daily Twitter/X post: Check. Opted for sharing our lovely sunset today.
Daily Facebook Page post: Pass. Just not "feeling" Facebook these days... it's where I get the least engagement.
Daily Instagram post: Check. Post about nature as inspiration for stone painting.

Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; five mini stones painted; Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce, whom I hope is doing OK.

Day 64 completed; another somewhat uninspired day, glad I had the finish work to keep me focused.

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!

Maybe, instead of feeling bored while doing the small ones, you can deliberately think happy thoughts towards them while creating, that they can carry along with them as they go to whoever they end up with. Gives you something to think about while working besides how boring it is.

I don't know if that sounds silly or not, but it would also force you to be focusing on happy, peaceful, generosity and etc instead.
