The 100-Day Project — Day 54 More of a Day of Reflection

So here we are, it is day 54 of the 100th day project. Starting to feel pretty good about the potential of actually seeing this through to the end!

The house is nice and quiet at the moment; my wife and our son decided to take a drive on a beautiful day up to a hot springs in the foothills about 90 minutes from here. I chose to pass on the experience because I'm not really a big hot springs fan — I have a very high body temperature and sitting in hot water and sweating even more than I normally do is not my idea of a good time!

More recently finished work!

Anyway, it gave me a little time to sit here and reflect on my impressions of the 100-Day Project, so far.

I am particularly interested in the growing possibility that this was exactly the impetus I needed to "get in the habit" of blogging regularly and so — when the 100-day project ends — I can just segue into keeping a daily or almost-daily art blog... something I have been "intending" to do for several years, and in some ways the original idea behind having a separate Alchemy Stones blog here on Hive.

Of course, it won't be in a "structured" format like these recent posts have been, but it'll still be a record of what I'm working on and doing with these painted stones that I've been absorbed by creating for so long.

Meanwhile, I was looking at my traffic stats on Etsy, and even though I have been steady in my social media sharing for almost eight weeks, at this point it doesn't look like there's any difference whatsoever to my visitor counts to my actual shop.

Which leads me to believe that we have all grown so jaded and used to social media that we see things that appeal to us and we might give it a "thumbs up" but only a very very tiny minority actually takes the time to click on something and open it to examine it more closely.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that people are getting ever more paranoid and hesitant to engage in any action that might lead to them "being sold to," so to speak. And that applies even if what they're being sold is something they really like.

Day 54 Stone Painting:

The primary thing on today's painting agenda was to paint the 30th and final Stone for the women's Retreat Stone project!

Now I just need to number them and let them dry/cure completely, before applying a finish coat to them. I have already ordered some special bags that they're going to go in — along with the usual Alchemy Stones story booklet — and once that is done they are ready for delivery!

Today's Stone pictured below.

I had all sorts of good intentions to do more creative work today, but that didn't turn out as planned because I got sidetracked by several writing projects instead. And so, I ended my creative endeavors for the day by gathering and lining up the 30 stones for the "Retreat Stone" order.

All done! Now they just need to be signed, numbered and finish coated!

Day 54 Summary and Social Media Bits:

A light day today: finished another Retreat Stone, thereby completing the 30-stone custom commission. The rest of the day I just didn't feel all that inspired.

Daily Twitter/X post: Check. A nature as inspiration post, for a change. Noticing that I have activity on my content almost daily now. That is progress.
Daily Facebook Page post: Check. Running another post about the UF/Paranormal summit.
Daily Instagram post: Check. A different collage shot of recently finished stones.

Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; finishing the Retreat Stones was the highlight of today; Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!

Day 54 completed; moderately OK day today. Trying not to feel too bummed out about yet another crypto crash... but oh well!

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
