The 100-Day Project, Day 46 — Upping the Productivity!

Welcome to Day 46 of the 100 day project!

Today had the feeling of a good day, almost from the beginning. I realized that I didn't have to run to town to take care of errands, and I was able to get a lot of my "busy work" for my eBay businesses taken care of relatively early.

It always amazes and impresses me just how much I can get done when I don't have to give up two to three hours in a day to deal with what I call "life's infrastructure."

Before lunch, I inventoried a couple more of my show stock bins, and was glad to establish that my revised record keeping system seems to be working pretty well. It will serve me really well in terms of saving time when something does sell from one of the online shops... I will be able to locate the sold items immediately rather than having to open multiple boxes to find the right item to ship.

Although we had a relatively clear day today, it was still kind of cold and breezy so working in the garden was not an allure, so I sat down and started directly to work on painting, already in early afternoon. That's a bit of a "luxury" for me, as I seldom haver time for creative work until after dinner, and sometime not until after 10:00pm.

Today's contribution to the "Retreat Stone" projects. Not sure why the image looks so bluish...

Day 46 Stone Painting:

With our UFO/Paranormal Conference vending event now just four weeks away, I decided it was time to step up my creative game as well.

The beginnings of the "Universe" stone

As usual, I started my work with another stone for the Retreat Stone project ("proof of stone" above), and then I went on to working with a design idea I've been thinking about for a while, specifically because of the nature and audience at our next event.

My only worry with this is how dark it will become after applying the finish coat

I think of these as "Universe," or "Firmament" stones, which seems particularly appropriate to have when going to a UFO convention which will be attended by a lot of people who spend their nights looking at the skies.

The actual geometrics are not a whole lot different from what I've worked with before, but this is a rather dark color combination that also is representative of the Third Eye and Crown Chakras.

It's actually brighter in person!

Having finished that one surprisingly quickly, I started in on painting some more of the tiniest fairy soon and that went pretty well too; in the end I added six more of them, today.

Six new minis!

Since I still had a little time before we were due to eat dinner, I got ambitious and decided to start on a 3rd full-sized stone.

Having looked at some of the gaping holes in our show inventory, I decided it would be a good idea to do another one of those spiral or pinwheel style designs. In this case, I chose a medium gray stone instead of a black one and set out to use paler colors with just a little bit of black as a counterpoint.

I like the IDEA, but the stone isn't super smooth...

As it turned out, this particular stone should probably have ended up in the junk pile, rather than the "to be painted" pile because it had a lot of little pits in it and it was a lot of work to paint, but in the end I think it turned out pretty well.

The final result looks decent enough. It'll be interesting to see what it's like, after the final finish coat.

Day 46 Summary and Social Media Bits:

Finished multiple stones again, today: As usual, a Retreat Stone, and then six tiny "Faerie Stones," and then two more regular sized stones. All in all, one of the most productive days I've had in a long time, creatively speaking.

Daily Twitter/X post: Check. Shared one of my sunset pix from my workspace!
Daily Facebook Page post: Fail/Pass. Continuing to let the UFO/Paranormal announcement page ride for a while. Did, however, leave a comment on the event's Facebook page.
Daily Instagram post: Check. shared one of my recently painted items from here.

Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; a really good creative day, glad to continue to build my stock of tiny stones; Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!

Day 46 completed; all in all, this turned out to be a good creative day. I amused myself by thinking about the fact that if I were a "full time" artist, this would be a normal to (even) slow day. These licves we live are not that conducive to creativity... but I keep plugging away at it!

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
