Art and Creativity: The Joy of Selling Better Items!

I spent a significant part of the day today unpacking from the show we were at this past weekend, and getting the paperwork part of the equation taken care of.

Yes, there's always that pesky paperwork to be taken care of after we've been to an event!

Apart from just checking sales tickets against actual deposits from the credit card processor, there's also the business of removing items sold this weekend that we're also listed for sale in our online shops. It wouldn't be a very good thing to end up having somebody order something online, only to discover that we just sold it at a show!

For me, one of the nicest things about our results from this past weekend was that I sold several larger more complex stones for the first time in a really long time. Makes me feel better about what I am doing.

This one also found a new home, with some new friends we made!

We really enjoy doing shows because it means we get to meet some of the fans of Alchemy Stones face-to-face, but it generally also means that we end up with lots and lots of little sales, and selling the larger pieces can be difficult. Unless, that is, you have the "right crowd" that don't see the idea of spending $50.00 or more on a painted stone is a complete folly and waste of time!

Over the weekend, I managed to sell three of the very larger pieces that we brought along. Each of these took many hours to complete and so it was really nice to see somebody appreciate them! Those stones now illustrate this blog post!

Two of them were for people who were keeping them for themselves and the other one was going to be given as a gift.

Just a mere fact that we had three good sales makes me feel pretty positive about the upcoming holiday season. It also serves as inspiration for me to get back upstairs into the creative area and to start not only creating the little nickel and dime stuff that always sells but also to start creating some bigger pieces.

Meanwhile, a different part of the paperwork equation consisted of an updated schedule of holiday events up on the alchemystone.com website.

It's also time to start ramping up our social media presence for the next six weeks, and hopefully it will result in some nice sales as well.

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
