I go to the bathroom and when I wash my face I remember that it is April Fool's Day, suspiciously I think that this time I will not fall into their trap...

In my house, always on April Fool's Day, my mother makes a joke that makes her laugh out loud, while she watches our terrified faces. With all my alarms activated I go to the kitchen and find my husband drinking his coffee very calmly. At the same time I think, will he have forgotten it... 🤔 My mother very lovingly says good morning to me and tells me I have prepared a delicious coffee for you. I look at her with a smile and tell her this time I won't fall into your trap, she pretending to be innocent tells me what are you talking about baby, drink your delicious coffee. ☕

She hands me the cup and smiling I tell her once again, this time I won't fall for your practical jokes, I quickly put my finger in the cup because I was sure she had put rice grains in the coffee. She usually does that on April Fool's Day.

To my surprise when I put my finger in the coffee cup I realize that there is nothing at the bottom of the cup. She says to me: quiet, I haven't put anything in it!!! I confidently grab my coffee cup and take a big sip....
Oooohhh how gross, a bad taste invades my body. 😵 This is coffee with hotdog water!!! I scream as my body shudders. 😵 I look at the two of them laughing out loud, this has been a terrible complicity of my husband and my mom.

I couldn't get mad at my mom, with her I can't, I already know that day jokes can't miss in my house. She tells me it's a good way to start the day with joy.... 😄 I look at her and tell her, "nice way to start the day. " 😏 Then I grab a fan that is on the table and shake it over my husband's shoulders, you're a traitor, I tell him. They both laugh until they cry from laughter. 😂😂 I can't handle them together. I had no choice but to start laughing too and I told them, they will pay me back.... 😄☕

This story reminded me of the thousands of jokes that are made in my house on April Fool's Day. My mom tells me that since ancient times people use to give salty coffee or put rice, corn or beans in the coffee, it is a way to have fun for a while, although practical jokes are not funny, but usually people are already prepared, coffee is the main target for this kind of pranks. In my house we don't usually make this kind of jokes with coffee, since putting hotdog water or salt in it would be too heavy a joke for our taste. But I still had a good laugh while writing this microfiction for Cinamon Café. 😊
