The biggest challenge when someone arrives at Hive and how the new Zealy campaign can change that.

On September 3rd, it has been exactly five years since I joined Hive. From then until now, it hasn't been an easy journey; it took me a long time to discover communities that valued my content, and even longer to establish a writing style that I truly liked and that made sense with my personality. Because, even though I've been writing for many years, writing for a personal blog was something new to me, and moreover, the anxiety generated by the possibility of getting a good reward hindered my performance.

I spent my early years on Hive focusing on the wrong thing. Instead of worrying about producing good content and having that production become increasingly consistent, I focused on creating content that could attract big votes, which I rarely achieved. For this reason, I also distanced myself from Hive many times. However, as wrong as I was to think more about the reward than consistency and networking, I saw a problem at the time that still exists today: good content being ignored.

What causes newcomers to Hive to quickly become absent is the lack of financial incentives. After all, what is usually advertised about this platform is that here we can be free, talk about whatever we want, and be rewarded for it. But in practice, it doesn't quite work that way. There need to be more measures in place for people who join Hive to want to stay, and I believe that Zealy's gamified tasks fill this gap to some extent.

After all, the more people who join and stay, the better for all of us, so let more initiatives like this be taken!

A maior dificuldade de quando alguém chega na Hive e como a nova campanha zealy pode mudar isso.

Dia 3 de setembro fez exatamente cinco anos que entrei na Hive. De lá pra cá, não foi uma jornada fácil; levei muito tempo pra descobrir comunidades que valorizassem meu conteúdo, e mais tempo ainda pra estabelecer um estilo de escrita que eu realmente gostasse e que fizesse sentido com minha personalidade. Porque, por mais que eu escreva há muitos anos, escrever para um blog pessoal era algo novo pra mim, e além disso, a ansiedade que a possibilidade de conseguir uma boa recompensa gerava, fazia com que eu não tivesse o melhor desempenho.

Passei meus primeiros anos na Hive focando na coisa errada, em vez de me preocupar em produzir um bom conteúdo e ter essa produção cada vez mais constante, eu focava em produzir um conteúdo que pudesse atrair grandes votos: raramente consegui. Porém, por mais que eu estivesse errada em pensar mais na recompensa do que na constância e em networking, eu via um problema na época que até hoje existe;bons conteúdos sendo ignorados.

O que faz com que as pessoas que chegam na Hive fiquem rapidamente ausentes é falta de incentivos financeiros. Afinal, o que normalmente é vendido sobre essa plataforma é que aqui podemos ser livres, falar sobre o que quisermos e sermos recompensados por isso. Mas, na prática, não é bem assim que funciona. É preciso que hajam mais medidas pra que as pessoas que entrem na Hive queiram permanecer, e eu acredito que as tarefas gameficadas da Zealy preenchem de certa forma essa lacuna.
