CREATIVE SUNDAY-- PAP MAKING ( DIY)

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed your Sunday?

For today's creative Sunday, I like to show you how I made pap myself.

I have always seen people produce it, the last time I made it was some ten years ago when my second child was little and feeding on it.

Four days ago, I bought guinea corn. Pap can be made with other grains such as millet, corn, etc. But I chose to make it with guinea corn.

So I had removed the chaff, washed and soaked the guinea corn.

Today, I bought it out after service, decanted the water away and washed the grains again to avoid smell.

Then I took it to the engine to grind. Thank God the engine woman was available.

Then I brought it home to filter.

I filled a rubber with water and got another rubber with a filter bottom. Then I scooped some of the paste into the rubber and filtered it.

I pressed out the pap from the filterate while the residue settled in the water at the bottom of the big rubber.

I kept scooping until the last paste was scooped.

I allowed the residue to settle well so I can squeeze it out.

I decanted the water away and I began to pour some of the residue into a clean bag used as strainer

Then I began to squeeze the water out.

I squeezed it hard until I am sure that the water is out.

Finally, I got the pap and stored in a rubber. I would put it in the refrigerator.

Anytime I need it, I can cut and make into the liquid Pap. Some use it for cold Pap, a semi solid while some use it for swallow food. It's called corn meal. Nni oka in Igbo land. 😅. Thanks.

Tomorrow morning, I won't hesitate to make pap and drink with moimoi as breakfast.

I am glad to teach you how I made pap. Will you try it?

Thanks for stopping by.

Yours, @adoore-eu
All images are mine. Sorry I didn't snap the guinea corn before soaking processing.

This looks like the pap they call locally as Ogi baba, the type that is good for babies. Is that it?.
The process isn't an east one, especially when one has to make this much.

Yes, this is Ogi Baba, Oka baba was used. People use it for Babies because it's very nutritious. I used it for my children when they were babies and that's the type they have come to know and love. It's really not easy but Some people don't filter it so it can yield plenty for them. If you want it neat and to be able to trust the water used and how it is made, you need to make it myself 😅. . Wow! So pap can be taken along side with moi moi? I haven't tried it out though but you see for akara (bean cake), count me in full time.

The process of making pap seems long for me, my mom used to make it back then. Anyways Please enjoy and don't forget to send some to us🥰

Wow you don't know it is good with moimoi? It's a great combo. There's nothing I can't eat with Pap. I ate it recently with fried eggs, hahaha. Some eat pap with fried plantain. Pap and beans is an amazing combination, pap and and cake as well is good. 🤣🤣🤣

I am familiar with the pap, my mom has done it a few times because she always wants her pap to be rich in garlic and ginger.

Thanks for sharing with us.
