I don't understand the apparent rise of anti-Asian attacks. Is it even a real phenomenon, or yellow journalism? I live in the heart of "MAGA country," and I am not aware of right-wing anti-Asian hate here. I could be out of touch, of course, but I just don't get it.

No, I am asking whether we're dealing with a real crime wave, or a new media spotlight on something previously ignored, or a peculiarity of random chance creating a statistical blip.
