A Glimpse Into the "Cost of living" Over Here

Well, after seeing the new topic from @ocd I just finna tell how it all goes down over here, but keeping it highly in mind that the quest for survival ain't an easy one and that applies everywhere, including countries with the best economy and whatever currency health.

That said, if we looking at "cost of living" I gotta say that it's really way way bigger to explore than I few minutes speech or article, because looking at the fact that human wants are unlimited, the satisfaction is never there, so then no matter how better the world becomes, the cost of living will prolly keep on its trend up…

However in Nigeria, to wrap ourselves around what exact amount of money could keep life going is highly difficult to attain, yeah it's one of those types of countries regardless of the riches or wealth of the nation.

Let's hit the Food List…

Most times it's such a long list that it outperforms the money available in most lives around here. It is damn difficult to know what number of zeros after a whole number would fend for everything, but if we looking at a family of 4 kids as ours, including both parents , to hit it at six. 30 dollars prolly not enough, but about $90 is just enough to prepare a long lasting meal ( remains prolly last three days or so). Meals of this nature includes soup with all good stuff in there just for the sake of making sure your kids are well up and going on proper nutrition. Else that, we see a lot of families struggling damn bad to cover 3 square meals, because $90 is some huge amount most peeps pay cheque ain't worth half.

And then when such people hit over to the supermarket they often get damn drain even with a fuckin list in their hands. As though inflation becomes the norms of every year, grocery lists are most times rendered useless once we appear to see the price tags. So in terms of cost of food for a living, a 100 dollars is just the perfect amount for a short time span which is definitely not forever.

How about Clothings?

A family of 4 kids and two parents need a total of about $1000 to buy em kids new outfits every month and for themselves too, whilst it all boils down to what exactly these kids are purchasing and what quantity, so we are looking at a family trying to live a comfortable life till death do 'em apart. But to households that have got to keep the expenses down, monthly clothing buy ups are definitely not a priority, but food rather is most important to at least keep 'em strong and living healthy.

A Home Plays The Front Role In All…!

There's definitely no buying of clothes if you all roaming in the streets or hunting flies like chameleons in the bushes. Although food tends to be more relevant, a shelter above one's head solely affects one's mental being. A kid living his life in the rain and under sun can't just have that normal kid nature. A wild life trait is bound to be actualized at some point. That said, in Nigeria a perfect home counts up to a price of $10,000 rest assured that there are no additional figures here, this is basically what we get down here, lands are costly, building materials are head over hills in prices, mostly for the fact they are most imported materials, so production cost × shipping fees makes it all a maddass price. But if we looking at a rental apartment, then $200 pays a tiny - manageable space depending on location for a life spend or a year time span.

So far, it's all a scary figure to look back at, but if a home is acquired, then other expenses would be less scarier. And also, this only applies to a family of 6 in total, a single living fellow spends much less in all, but ability to cope all depends on the pay cheque one receives. So then the hustle in the nation is limitless because "cost of living" is not a stablecoin sadly, and "Standard of living" is what most people crave the high class. So the hustle equals the spending measures but the cost of living forever stays on the roof top, it's a tough ride but we get through it…

Thanks for reading this far, all comments are highly welcomed and appreciated

Here in my country a $200 rent is a little stiff, a standard rent here usually starts at $100.

I guess it's a bit cheaper over there. The thing here is, if you're searching for a comfortable apartment then it's just that amount, anything less is probably not going to be so good to live in...
