The LimeStone Coast - Some pictures along the Great Ocean Road, Australia
It has been a longtime since I’ve been able to post about my holiday adventures so here I go!
Recently I decided that it was time to get out and about. Holidays have always been an important component of my lifestyle and unwinding, but Covid and the lockdown methodology in Australia has made that very difficult.
Anyway, I finally got into Victoria to see some family and took a trip along the Great Ocean road.
Here are a few of my stops along the most well known section between PrinceTown and Port Campbell
Gibson Steps
These steps reach down the limestone cliff onto the beach. Only 100 steps or so and not too demanding to reach the bottom and enjoy the breathtaking views.
The Twelve Apostles
Probably the most famous of the landmarks on this stretch of the coastline. Some of the columns have fallen into the ocean after normal erosion but it still attracts many visitors each year.
London Bridge
London Bridge has fallen down. A spectacular arch structure did connect to the land but fell away a number of years ago.
The Grotto
Another beautiful landform from erosion. It was an inviting place to explore, but large surf and unstable cliffs make it also dangerous.
There are many more places of interest along this stretch of coastline and these are just a few pictures for interest. If you visit Australia or are looking for a place to travel, don’t miss this wonderful part of the country.
Thanks for reading.
Fantastic pics and glad you finally got a holiday in 👍
Those cliffs look amazing! I'd imagine there's a lot of climbing in that area.
I toured Australia for 3 months but not the 12 apostels. The country is so big! We did the Eastcoast (Melbourne to a little above Bundaberg) and West coast (Perth to Darwin) Next time we will do South Australia a.o. and some more Victoria.
WOW Amazing photos Scoot! What was travelling like in the middle of covid? Did you get stuck in states waiting for borders to open?
No issues apart from a cancelled and rescheduled flight. Left QLD then it went into Lockdown!
Damn you take some nice photos O_O
Yay for finally being able to take a trip!
