To make your affiliate marketing business the success you want it to be, you need to master the art of writing content that will get you where you want to be. Like any form of marketing, content for your affiliates should also be engaging, entertaining and informative in an eye- catching way. When you get into learning how to write this kind of content, then you will find it is also not only rewarding, because you are also learning while doing your post research, but it is also fun!

So let's get into some of the basics of writing content for your affiliate marketing business.

Personalizing Your Content

When you go out on the internet you will find many reviews about products are often not very truth-based and are largely just stated facts about different pros and cons related to the product. It is likely that marketers are generally afraid of the feedback they may receive if they tell the truth. However, in today's age, sincerity is more welcoming to most people, so being transparent about a product will probably be met well by your readers. Giving it the personal touch is always the better bet. If the company doesn't like your feedback about their product, then it might be time to look for the next hustle, because there are plenty out there!

Centering Your Content Around Your Readers

Your content should always be reader-centric, and the reader should be kept in mind before any content is written. Paying some attention to what your readers would want to the read and how much time they would like to invest in it would be a good way to give the readers what they want. This will largely increase the value of your content and will make your readers relate more to it. Video marketing platforms like YouTube make this easy in their analytics to see where your viewers are falling off your videos. You can see how much time people are spending and that will allow you to make adjustments to how you are making your content.

In the case of blogging, it's not that easy. You can of course measure site traffic and click rates, etc, but that doesn't really always let you know how well the readers are receiving your content. That is why a place like Hive is a wonderful place to make posts, because it can show you how well the community values your content, which we won't get into the political discussions around it, but the overall premise of posting content on the blockchain is for not only affiliate purposes, but to gauge how much value you are putting out into the world. It's a great concept and one that we can further master as the platforms grow.

Paying Attention To What is In Demand

Promoting products that don't have any demand will probably get your affiliate marketing nowhere. Your content would not be read often, even if you like the product you're promoting. Sharing sentiments with your users and giving them what they want is essential. Thus, researching products in demand beforehand is probably a good idea to know what is popular and what is not. More positive remarks about the said product will add weight to your review.

This particular subject is what got me geared more to the overall world of online business education instead of just selling products. Personally, I have a hard time finding value in most of the things other people want to purchase. Hey I am a minimalist, what can I say... I buy more digital assets than physical these days, haha. But many people find value in business education. So here I am taking my years of trial and error and laying it all out for you.

What I have found that works is utilizing my kids and their friends to gauge what is happening in the markets. This is a great way to find things that are popular with consumers if you are into the whole product affiliate marketing niche. But if you are a kid and or are single without kids, then you should get out there in the world and find out what is happening! Now in these days, that may be an issue for some, but at least get out there in the internet space and find out what is popular. Again, I have kids for that so I don't have to, haha.

The Subtile Art of Masking Your Affiliate Content

Hiding your true intentions in stories or personal experiences can be a great way to get your affiliate products out to the world, if you are good at it that is. You should naturally be able to incorporate your content with stories or something similar not to make affiliate marketing feel like affiliate marketing. Even if you are promoting a product, readers can usually tell that your prime objective is just selling it immediately as soon as they start reading. Using a technique to mask it can make readers ease into the review and can also make it seem more sincere and help build trust.

For example, you can talk about an experience you had on a trip, because everyone loves a good travel story. Then while you are talking about your trip, you can slide in there how much you loved having your drone with you because you would able to get some amazing shots in some beautiful places. Then you casually throw your Amazon affiliate link for your drone into the post with maybe a picture of you and the drone.

People will be interested in the same drone because they saw that you had a good experience with it, so then they will want to click the link to get their own drone for their trip, then maybe some other products from Amazon at the same time and you will earn commission on the entire purchase. Just using Amazon as an example as they are one of the largest affiliate marketing companies in the world when it comes to product marketing.

Sticking To A Category or Niche

Sticking to one category when it comes to your promotion and reviews may be a good marketing strategy. If you stay with one niche in all your content, you can become the go-to reviewer for them in the long run, and everyone will know who to consult when that specific category of items or services is in concern. This will help you earn trust even faster.

For some, it may take a long time, allot of trial and error, to find that one niche or product. I know because it has taken me years to get to a place to figure out that I do better when trying to market educational products build around business. Knowledge is gold in todays world. It can be produced on time and sold many times over, which is a long time upper-hand on any physical consumer product.

It is extremely important to build that trust with our audience. In many cases, it is better to start producing content WITHOUT marketing any products at first, just to build value in you as a content creator, then start introducing products and such once you establish yourself as an expert in the field. If you do not build that trust first, you just look like every other product shill out there on the market.

Types of Affiliate Content

Now that we have talked about some tips about how to go about creating your content around your audience and your product, let's talk about some different types of content to create.

Product Reviews

Product Review is one of the most classic types of content when it comes to affiliate marketing and is the most commonly used method of increasing sales. This type of content is mostly a written format with a basic description given of the product, its pros and cons, and the writer's personal opinion.

What makes this the most read is how honest it is, which shows that it is authentic and not paid. Talking about both its advantages and disadvantages makes it more believable, so the decision to buy is solely upon the readers. Again, it is important to build that trust with your audience, so it is best to give honest reviews.

Video Reviews

Due to the continued, we will nicely say, decrement of attention spans of users on the internet worldwide, written text is often not received as warmly by all buyers looking to review a product, such as product reviews stated previously. Thus, videos are preferred as they are more engaging and also easier to understand the product. In the video, you can show the product and explain on-hand how it works and what works better than the other. Videos are thus received more openly by users.

The challenge with video is well, in the production. This can be as simple as shooting a video on your phone in a room with some good lighting, to being as complicated and expensive as having a studio setup with lighting, multiple cameras, etc. Then you have to produce and edit... So you will need spend allot of time learning how to produce and edit video, unless you are a boss and can pay someone to do all of that for you, haha. Not to mention, not everyone likes to be on camera or is comfortable with public speaking.

Creating Lists

Because reading paragraphs can be time consuming to many people with the attention span of a gnat, another type of content may be easier on the eye than just paragraphs, these are lists. Top 10 lists and Top 20 lists related to any products or services are some of the most read content on the internet. Lists let you review a wide array of things at once, and also give your opinion on all of them and how well you rate each comparatively to the other. It is a good way to promote many products at once. It's a great way to give a break down of many products, then link them to the product using say your Amazon affiliate links or even better, your Hivelist affiliate link. See what I did there... haha... We are working on becoming the Amazon of the blockchain, and we can all be stronger together, so become an early adopter today!

Creating Tutorials

Another way to promote anything on the internet is to provide a detailed tutorial with it, so if there is any confusion related to the product, readers can know that they can easily understand it through your tutorial. In one tutorial article, you can also provide more affiliate links and promote applications and tools linked to what the tutorial is on.

This is a great way to not only market physical or digital products, but it is a great way to educate your audience and build what is called evergreen content. This type of content can stay relevant for a long time, thus drawing passive income from work you did only once.

Tutorials are also a great way to build that trust factor that we discussed earlier. It can help establish you as an expert in your chosen niche and can serve you well in the future as you build your brand.

Wrapping It Up

As you can see, like any other form of marketing, what you choose to market, and how you market it plays a vital role in how successful you are going to be. Being able to grab the reader's attention is key when it comes to creating content. And not just grabbing the attention of the audience, but also gaining their trust and solidifying your place as an expert in that niche or category.

Hope these articles have helped you get an idea of how you can get started with your affiliate journey! But we are not done yet! Our next article will be talking about some qualities of a good affiliate marketer and some how to overcome some of the major challenges of the industry!
