I have heard a lot of people say all sorts about branding being over hyped and all but I am pretty sure they don't know what branding really is or what exactly it does to a business. Branding is the way the world sees and identifies your business. It stand for everything your business is all about, including your logo, colors, themes of your business. It is reflected in the way you do your business, how you treat your customers and even down to your staff uniforms or the theme of your stores.

Branding is simply a marketing practice in which a business creates a name, logo or design that helps it stand out among other businesses. By combining your jingles, themes, logos, customer service, promotional merchandise, your brand is always portrayed effectively. It is also important that you note the difference between a brand and a product , although your products may give you ideas in what your brand should be about. For example if you produce high quality leather belts at a very affordable price, then affordability at low cost is your brand.

When you have figured out the right branding, then making sales will not be a problem. Branding gives your business recognition and awareness. It is a marketing technique and it reflects your business and all it has to offer. Most people may not buy your products on the spot but your branding has created a sense of awareness in them to come get it when they can. It's the reason why even though people have a functioning android , they still save up money to get an iPhone.

Not only does it create awareness but also helps you retain customers which then boost your sales. With a good brand that people have grown to love and trust, you don't need to bother about running after customers because they will always come back. Coca-cola doesn't need to make noise around every block every time trying to get customers because over the years they have been able to create a large network of trusting customers who will always reach out for a bottle of coke wherever they might be.

Branding also helps to cut down on the cost of advertising the traditional way because people already know about this product and are familiar with the business and what it is about. For example when last did you see a Ferrari or benz advert, that's because they have been able to create a good brand . When people make it big the first thing on their mind is to get a good ride , not just any ride but a Ferrari or a benz.

When people are happy with your business and it's brand, they go on to talk about it whenever they can. For the percentage of the population who trust other people's opinions rather than a tv advert, you would be getting them as well. Creating a large referral system of more paying customers and off course boosting your sales just like a ripple effect. Ultimately , a good brand doesn't just boost sales alone but increase the value of your business in the industry especially with investments which create opportunities for your business to grow and expand.

Hi @valchiz, certainly the brand makes the difference in marketing because without investing heavily in advertising the loyal customer will always buy your product, now this is a process that is achieved in the medium or long term because you must anchor the product in the minds of customers and this is achieved over time.
