The psychology of the blockchainer
There is a growing interest in blockchain technology nowadays and a more recent interest in people's behaviors within the platform.
According to the theory of planned behavior, behaviors in the blockchain are determined by individuals' intentions. Behavioral intentions are grounded in a combination of factors: attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. However, users' experience in the blockchain might be seen as irrational, considering that people make decisions under the influence of cognitive bias and herd behaviors.
On the other side, the psychological empowerment of individuals in the platform is huge. However, before feeling reinforced to engage in the platform, the users might experience the fear of missing out rewarding experiences that other people benefit from, uncertainty, and doubt about what happens next in the blockchain.
It is even suggested that the blockchain could help individuals by preventing them from getting false information about the Covid-19 virus. Information on a blockchain is more stable and traceable. Therefore, they wouldn't have to deal with psychological anxiety and economic loss.
The studies concerning the psychology of the blockchainer are at their beginnings but the starting points are promising.
