Splinterlands - Naga Warrior Melee Battle (Weekly Post)

Naga Warrior was one of the last epic alpha monsters cards I bought when I was still trying to collect alphas. As of now the highest level I have of a Naga Warrior is level 3.

I suppose if I bought 2 more single 1 bcx I can evolve my Naga Warrior to level 4. This opens up her next ability which is enrage. It definitely appears likely I would want that as I can imagine how strong Naga can be when being attacked and be enrage and retaliate on the same turn.

Battle Using Naga Warrior

Naga Warrior came into play when I was pretty much limited in selections. So limited that you can see what I had to deal with the image above. I only had two splinters to choose from between water and life. In addition I had Noxious Fumes to deal with as the rule set. The match was 42 manas.

Formations

I would lead off with LA, follow up by Naga Warrior, Phantom of the Abyss, Ruler of the Sea, Prismatic Energy, and end with Water Elemental. While my opponent went with Onyx Sentinel, Goblin Mech, Mischievous Mermaid, Captain's Ghost, Prismatic Energy, and end with Centaur. All in all we were relatively match since our monsters were similar in type of attack and positioning. For instance we both used a tanker that does no attack but defend, reflex attacks, and retaliate. Then we end with range monsters with Water Elemental versus Centaur. We both even have Prismatic Energy in the same spot while a couple of magic monsters follow by same second position melee type monster. huh!

Round 1

There is a knock out on both sides by end of first round. Both tankers were eliminated at the end of the first round. It made me ponder if a LA was even worth it considering 1bcx is worth over $20. Why not I invest in an Onyx?

Round 2

image.png

I say this is a total annihilation round on my opponent. How come? Right after poison is distributed to all monsters my formation had a head start in attacking and basically crushed my opponent's monsters to the point only Prismatic Energy remained. 5 versus 1. Way to go!

Round 3

This is the end as my formation basically beat out their Prismatic Energy. Yet before it is knocked out almost half my formation was also knocked out.

Conclusions

It turned out to be a fast battle and likely due to the rule set Noxious Fumes. I was surprise the tankers were knocked out so quickly in the match that likely accelerated the battle. I do say Naga help in the knock outs but what stood out to me really was the LA and Onyx pretty much were equals in the match. I prefer to spend a lot less in using Onyx than have a LA. Something I definitely will be looking into and recommend others do the same.
