EFREET ELDER // Weekly Battle Challenge

avatar

Peace Dear Splinters,

Efreet Elder has caught our attention this week. I had the opportunity to rent my first legendary summoner of fire to test the Efreet Elder and the result was impressive. I was in the process of leveling up this monster but the limited resource has somewhat put in slow motion major part of my expansion plans. Efreet was on my radar since I got him as loots from previous season finale.

The Arina has two summoners of opposite elements one from fire and the other from water. The battle rulesets were Broken arrows and Target practice. The mana limitation for this match was encouraging enough to place heavy cards on the board.

Rare fire monster from the rewards series, Efreet Elder has incredible stats when leveled up to the eight ranks of experiment. I played Efreet few times in situations I could avoid playing with magic fire monsters in rank battle.

Efreet Elders carry a vast array of mystical secrets and spells that were gifted to them in ancient times by Mishna, Mitreyya’s steward who resides in the Burning Lands deep. The most impressive of these is called the envelation of flame. With this spell, which is simple for the Elders but endlessly complex for anyone who does not know the secrets, the castor is entirely enveloped in fire for a short time. This spell is strikingly similar to the natural skills of famed summoner Malric Inferno, who can convert any part of his body to fire, bringing out the part of him that summons with ease the most powerful monsters of flame. While the Efreet Elders’ council is often sought by those wishing to learn some secrets of their sorcery, the secrets are only shared with the worthy and the old. It is becoming exceedingly rare to find anyone among the Efreet clans that possess both of these qualities.

Battle Ruleset: Broken Arrows, Target practice and Mana cap 46

The time has come to present to you the lineup opposed on the battlefield. I have displayed below the details about the match where Sand Worm is playing a great role.

The lineup of the cards in the arena

image.png

Summoner: Alric Stormbringer level 3 | Water elemental, All my opponent monsters had magic one additional attack point while the opposite side had no alteration of statistics.

My opponent lineup has positioned cards from the water and neutral element aligned in the following order:

--

* Frost Giant level 1 - Shield

* Sea monster level 4 - Heal

* Gelatinous Cube level 4 - Scavenger

* Sand Worm level 4 - Sneak

* Captain's Ghost level 2 - Affliction, Snipe

* Sea Genie level 4 - Flying Snipe

My first rental card after the update on Splinterlands market was a fire legendary summoners. I was confident of my line and ready to battle few seconds after the countdown started.

Here is a description of my team lineup

Plado Emberstorm level 3, All friendly melee monsters have one additional melee attack and speed boost then the enemies lose one range point of their attack

* Goblin Mech level 7 - Abilities piercing and Stun

* Finas rage level 4

* Efreet Elder level 2 - Abilities Last Stand, Snipe

--

* Sand Worm level 6 - Abilities Sneak, snare

* Creeping Ooze level 7 - Slow

* Naga fire wizard level 4 - Shield snipe

The lineup of the two teams was interesting especially when I consider the ruleset of the battle. The match wasn't going to be too long and the outcome was quick.

My strategies

My strategy with Plado was to boost the speed and increase the melee attack of my monsters. The legendary summoner has great abilities that certainly place my team in a very good position in this battle. My opponent had taken to his advantage the ruleset of battle by placing rightfully magic monsters on the board but the level of experience was against him.

Did my strategy work?

Yes, my melee monsters did great offensive work. When speed and melee are boosted goblin mech and other fire monsters on the battlefield are unstoppable. The match last four rounds with no loss on my team. Creeping Ooze slow down my opponent's attacks, stun kept the front line monster at sleep. These situations helped my team sized the victory.

What will I try differently next time?

If a similar ruleset in battle happens to appear one more time I will definitely include in my lineup magic monsters Flame Imp and Beetle queen. These exciting battle rulesets highlighting the power of magic monsters. Efreet Elder played its role at the perfection.

Did I like Efreet Elder? why or why not

I would love to level up Efreet Elder than find a suitable place for this card in my strategies. My summoners of fire element can't boost the magic attack, so the Efreet Elder must present a strong performance in the arena to survive heavy attacks from the opposite side. Last Stand is an ability I like very much on monsters in Splinterlands. It is worthy to receive a larger portion of my current investment plan.
