(Google translate from Czech)

Due to human activity, natural food sources for birds, forest and wildlife are declining. Or there are periods when natural food is scarce.

Greetings to all fans of Amazing Nature Community

In the cases described above, we can help birds and other animals with our responsible approach. You guessed it right. We have another round of Thematic Challenges with a theme

FEEDERS

I do not mean feeding pigeons in cities or waterfowl on the levels of urban and suburban bodies of water. It's more of a scandal that many species get used to and then no longer look for natural food sources.

Your task for this challenge will be to:

  • take a picture of the feeder or feeder (if you can take a picture of the birds and animals we are happy to take)
  • find out and write down which species are most common in feeders
  • write what kind of feeding you give to the feeders and why you think that this type of feeding is suitable

As always, a little inspiration for you :-)

IMG_20210131_142726.jpg

This bird feeder is next to the neighbors in the garden. Because the neighbors don't live here in the winter, I bring the feed to the feeder. The most common guests are the great tit (Parus major) and sometimes the field sparrow (Passer montanus).
I usually buy a supply of flaxseed and sunflower seeds, because these types of seeds can be found by birds even when there is enough food.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take a picture of a single bird. Whenever I got a little closer to the feeding birds, they immediately flew away. I don't have photographic equipment for long-distance photography.

I wish you many wonderful moments in fulfilling this challenge

😊🐿
The birds truly do bless me with their beauty and company!
@bucipuci
I live very far out into the woods in a small cabin. There are no neighbors or people that live close to me.
Seeing the birds and other wildlife here is so very wonderful..!

I like to believe that :-)
I don't live in the middle of the forest like you do, but I have a forest right behind the house and sometimes deer walk around my yard :-)

I do love the solitude here..!
@bucipuci
My family and friends think I shouldn't be living/dwelling so far away alone.
So very true you don't have to be in far in the woods to see wildlife....!! They can and adapt to being in populated places too.
So very most wonderful the deer come into to your back yard...🤗🌲🌲🌲🤗..!!!

Loneliness away from people is less dangerous than living in a civilization :-).
Deer are not with us. They are roe deer. They come to us at night for acorns :-)

I totally agree @bucipuci
And feel safer in the woods... 😊:-D
I was certain you were saying the deer you have are wild ones. So Wonderful there are acorns for them to eat/forage.
Acorns are valuable food source for all kinds of wildlife.

I also prefer a forest to a "pile" of people :-)

There are a lot of oaks growing here, so there is no shortage of acorns :-)

😊 Me too..!!
@bucipuci
I absolutely prefer a forest to a "pile" of people !!!!
Oaks are a great sturdy trees.
I have the Red Oak trees here. Some years they are very...very generous with acorns.

In our country, mainly summer oak grows. Last autumn was very rich in acorns. When the wind blew, it was dangerous to go under the oaks :-)

Nature wisely arranged that there are enough acorns to restore the trees and as food for game :-)

@qwerrie
The birds seem to really like and appreciate them.
Keeps me busy refilling them with more food.

ha! ofc they appreciate them -- sunflower seeds are one of the fave for many bird species. and they are especially useful for them in wintertimes, as they give them a lot of oils (useful in the cold time).

ps. warmly welcome to my Feeders post -- there's a surprising variety of my findings during the last year :P
