Achmad Dradjat from Bandung - West Java is the founder of the Tarung Derajat martial arts school. Young Drajat lived a hard life on the streets. He was often abused in fights. On July 18, 1972, Achmad Dradjat declared Tarung Derajat as a martial art. Furthermore, Tarung Derajat has also become a combat material in the Indonesian Armed Forces and the Indonesian Police Mobile Brigade.

Strength - Speed - Accuracy - Courage and Tenacity are the five main elements in Tarung Derajat martial arts.
