Sweeney's back, and better than ever!

I used to be really active back in the golden days of Steemit, in the good ol' days before the even Sun shone it's evil eye upon us... and then I all but fell off the face of the blockchain due to an overwhelming turmoil in my life that I still haven't talked about publicly, and may not ever.

Steemit Sweeney often took more than he gave back. I started a hundred projects, and made a million promises, never following through with any of them, because that's what I had always done. I own the keys for sixteen different accounts, though none of them have ever been anything of value because I spread myself too thin. I lived off the money I made from posting on Steemit, and while that can be a great thing, I always powered down and withdrew everything I could, and I feel I never really gave anything back in appreciation for all the platform, and more importantly the people on it, had done for me. Steemit Sweeney was Talk, Talk, Talk.

But actions speak much louder than words, and it's time for Hive Sweeney to put his money where his mouth is. I'm back, baby, and red is SO much more my color! I've already joined up with the @HiveHustlers team as a manual curator and am running an ongoing post challenge to onboard new members, it's time to run a personal endeavor, while simultaneously supporting individual entrepreneurs, and giving awesome Hivers(??) something to walk away with! I still like to talk and ramble, but you'll get no more empty promises from me, and without babbling on any longer, I introduce to you:

So what is Sweeney's Sweet Swag Sweepstakes (S4)?

Put simply, it will be a series of raffles for super sweet prizes. To elaborate, I'll be fronting my own money to buy and give away products and services offered here on the blockchain and elsewhere. I believe this is a great way for me to provide a win-win and fun for everyone, while actually giving something real back to the community.

First of all, any product or service chosen for one of these raffles ensures the vendor gets a sale regardless of the raffle's "success". Second, participants have a chance to pick up something really cool for a lot cheaper than if they outright bought it, and anyone will be able to receive at least one free entry regardless of ability to buy in. Last but not least, this will be a second hustle for me, and it's my hope that I would eventually be able to turn this into a profitable idea. Profiting would help me create bigger collaborations, as well as offer bigger and better prizes in future raffles, and right off the top of my head, I can think of some crazy things to give away if this ends up being successful...

Now. Let's get down to the formal stuff.

Official Rules:

  • Each sweepstakes round will last 1 week while the round's announcement post is 'active'.

  • 1 HIVE = 1 Ticket. - Limit 50 tickets per person. Buying tickets with alternate accounts is highly discouraged. This may be difficult to enforce, but I will be blacklisting those who are proven to circumvent this rule. Let's be fair and give the most possible people the fairest chance to win.

  • Tickets are non-transferable and will be numbered/listed on each round's active post ahead of the drawing. Said list will be updated at least every 24 hours until the drawing occurs.

  • Drawings will always happen LIVE in the new S4 Discord on the Saturday following a round's end at 11pm EST (3am UTC). I understand this will be really late/early for my pals across the pond, but it's a time I know I'll always be able to devote to doing a scheduled live event.

  • The Winner(s) will have 7 days from the drawing to claim their prize. In the event a prize goes unclaimed for 7 days, a second drawing will be held that Saturday to decide a new winner. This cycle will repeat as necessary.

  • Only in the event that a particular prize cannot be delivered to the winner, an alternative prize of equal value will be determined between the winner and myself at the time such event occurs.

  • No purchase necessary to enter. - Every round will offer 1 free entry per person. Claiming this free entry will almost always take the form of commenting on and reblogging the active round post, but Upvotes will never be a requirement for entry. Specific details about free entries will be clearly laid out for each round.

If any of these rules changes in any way for a particular round, it will be clearly noted.

This is also where all drawings will occur, as discord makes it incredibly easy for me to simply share my screen in a voice chat and conduct the event without (hopefully) too many hiccups.

I have high hopes for this endeavor, and plan to give as many people as I can something tangible to help push the word of HIVE into the real world. Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated.
