When I was about seven years old I had a great passion: Lego bricks.
I enjoyed building castles, spaceships and everything that my imagination or fantasy suggested to me.
Today I am 41 years old and many years have passed since I was a little Lego builder.
Some time ago I bought and gave some Lego bricks to my daughter Chiara who is now seven years old.
When I was my daughter's age there were no smartphones, no Youtube, no TikTok and Lego bricks and toy cars were my favorite toys.
Chiara also likes to play with legos but she definitely plays less than I did when I was her age.

I asked Chiara to help me create the Hive On sign with Lego bricks and in the following picture you can see the final result.
Do you like it?

I try to encourage my daughter to use her creativity and imagination and Lego bricks are a good way to use them.
With bricks you can build anything and now I am going to show you some creations Chiara and I made:

• a guitar for a rock concert

• a lighthouse to guide and orient the navigation of the lego-navigators

• A lantern

• A little white snowman that we named LegOlaf

• An ice cream kiosk attached to a motorcycle

• A hamster wheel but without the hamster, I like animals to be free :)

• A rescue facility for turtles

• A turtle rescue machine.

• A doghouse for a little dog (the little dog is not there because he ran away and we can't find him :)

In the next picture there is instead a strange and imaginative building that my daughter built with the bigger version of the bricks called Duplo that is suitable for children 3 years old and up.

Are just a few colorful bricks enough to be happy?

Since becoming a dad I have learned to give even more weight and importance to time!

Time is the most precious asset we have.

When I play and in general when I spend time with my daughter I feel happy and above all I am happy to use the time in the best way possible.

When I was little I spent little time playing with my father because he was often busy with work.
I don't have a steady job and I have several jobs at the same time so I'm even busier than my father but every bit of time I have, I prefer to dedicate to my daughter rather than, for example, to watch the game of my favorite soccer team ...

Spending time with your children is especially an opportunity to listen to them.
When my daughter and I play we also talk a lot and between one laugh and another there are also moments when Chiara tells me what she did at school, she tells me about her friends and sometimes she also confides in me her little worries.
The game thus becomes a moment of dialogue and above all of education.

When I hold a Lego brick in my hand, I am no longer a simple father playing with his daughter, but I return, even if only for a short time, to that ever smiling and carefree child who believed that everything he imagined or built with his colorful Lego bricks could one day become reality.

Maybe simple colored bricks are not enough to be happy but they are definitely enough to live happy and carefree moments.

Bastano pochi mattoncini colorati per essere felici?

Quando avevo circa sette anni avevo una grande passione: i mattoncini Lego.
Mi divertivo a costruire castelli, astronavi e tutto quello che la mia immaginazione o fantasia mi suggeriva.
Oggi ho 41 anni e sono passati tanti anni da quando ero un piccolo costruttore Lego.
Tempo fa ho comprato e regalato dei mattoncini lego a mia figlia Chiara che oggi ha sette anni.

Quando avevo l'età di mia figlia non c'erano gli smartphone, non c'era Youtube, non c'era TikTok e i mattonici lego, le macchinine erano i miei passatempi preferiti.
Anche a Chiara piace giocare con i lego ma gioca decisamente meno di me quando avevo la sua età.

Ho chiesto a Chiara di aiutarmi a creare la scritta Hive On con i mattoncini Lego e nella foto seguente puoi vedere il risultato finale.

Con i mattoncini si può costruire di tutto e adesso ti mostro alcune creazioni che abbiamo fatto io e Chiara:

• una chitarra per un concerto rock

• un faro per guidare e orientare la navigazione dei lego-marinai

• Una lanterna

• Un rettangoloso pupazzo di neve

• Un chiosco dei gelati collegato ad una moto

• Una ruota per criceti ma senza il criceto, mi piace che gli animali siano liberi :)

• Una struttura di soccorso per tartarughe

• Una macchina per il salvataggio delle tartarughe di prima

• Una cuccia per un cagnolino

Nella foto seguente c'è invece uno strano e fantasioso edificio che ha costruito mia figlia con la versione più grande dei mattoncini che si chiamano Duplo e che è adatta ai bambini dai 3 anni in su.

Bastano pochi mattoncini per essere felici?

Da quando sono diventato papà ho imparato a dare ancora più peso e importanza al tempo!

Il tempo è il bene più prezioso che abbiamo.

Quando gioco e in generale quando passo del tempo con mia figlia mi sento felice e soprattutto sono felice di impiegare il tempo nel modo migliore possibile.

Quando ero piccolo passavo poco tempo a giocare con mio padre perchè lui era spesso impegnato per motivi di lavoro.
Io non ho un lavoro fisso e svolgendo più lavori contemporaneamente sono ancora più impegnato di mio padre ma ogni ritaglio di tempo che ho, preferisco dedicarlo a mia figlia piuttosto che, ad esempio, impiegarlo nel guardare la partita della mia squadra di calcio preferita...

Passare del tempo con i propri figli è un occasione soprattutto per ascoltarli.
Quando io e mia figlia giochiamo parliamo anche molto e tra una risata e l'altra ci sono anche momenti in cui Chiara mi racconta cosa ha fatto a scuola, mi parla dei suoi amichetti e avvolte mi confida anche le sue piccole preoccupazioni.
Il gioco così diventa anche un momento di dialogo e soprattutto di educazione.

Quando ho in mano un mattoncino lego non sono più un semplice papà che gioca con sua figlia, ma ritorno, anche se per poco tempo, quel bambino sempre sorridente e spensierato che credeva che tutto quello che immaginava o costruiva con i suoi colorati mattoncini lego un giorno potesse diventare realtà.
Forse dei semplici mattoncini colorati non sono suffienti per essere felici ma sono sicuramente suffienti per vivere momenti di felicità e spensieratezza.
