Earlier this month, I participated in the monthly Top 3 Contest. This contest provides entrants an opportunity to name their top 3 of any given topic.
For August, the subject was Your Top 3 End of the World Movies.
I was eager to participate this month because I have always loved both pre and post-apocalyptic movies. Dystopian events.
My love of these type of movies began early with Omega Man staring Charleston Heston. He was among my favorite actors.
That started me to thinking of the different types of scenarios whereby disasters, other than our normal natural ones such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, would occur that altered the entire world. Although these incidents can occur to that depth.
What if everyone in the world was suddenly forced to alter their way of life. The former familiar things were no more. A rebirth or reinvention of all we know.
How would we handle it? What type of society would emerge? Who would be left to decide?
On a more basic level, how would individuals handle the struggle in relation to their own quest for survival?

A principios de este mes, participé en el concurso mensual de los 3 mejores. Este concurso ofrece a los participantes la oportunidad de nombrar sus 3 mejores de cualquier tema.
En agosto, el tema fue "Tus tres mejores películas del fin del mundo".
Estaba ansioso por participar este mes porque siempre me han gustado las películas pre y post apocalípticas. Eventos distópicos.
Mi amor por este tipo de películas comenzó pronto con Omega Man mirando a Charleston Heston. Estaba entre mis actores favoritos. Eso me hizo pensar en los diferentes tipos de escenarios en los que los desastres, además de los naturales normales como huracanes, inundaciones, terremotos, ocurrirían y alterarían el mundo entero. Aunque estos incidentes pueden ocurrir a esa profundidad.
¿Qué pasaría si todos en el mundo se vieran forzados de repente a alterar su forma de vida. Las cosas que antes eran familiares ya no lo eran. Un renacimiento o reinvención de todo lo que conocemos. ¿Cómo lo manejaríamos? ¿Qué tipo de sociedad surgiría? ¿Quién quedaría para decidir? En un nivel más básico, ¿cómo manejarían los individuos la lucha en relación a su propia búsqueda de supervivencia?
