You know it. Sometimes a crisis comes and no idea in your head. Fortunately, others have good ideas :-)

Greetings to all fans of Amazing Nature Community

That's why I'm using an idea from @qwerrie, which pitched the idea to another thematic challenge. Prepare ladders or waterproof shoes because you will need them.

The topics for this call are:
BIRD NESTS

Before I give you a task, I want to ask you for maximum caution and consideration towards the object of your research and photography.

Your task is:

  • take a documentary photograph of a bird's nest
  • try to determine which bird the nest belongs to
  • if there are eggs in the nest, try to estimate their size.
!! Under no circumstances touch the eggs !!!. Make your estimation and photo shoot as quickly as possible so that the bird's parents can return to the nest in peace and take care of the eggs. !!!
  • Proper verbal commentary is a matter of course

A little inspiration for you.
Because our house is surrounded by trees, I have many opportunities to watch birds and also a little extra worries. With one tree, I could not agree that its branches were harmful to our gutters. So I had to climb on a hundred and prune some branches.

It was strange to me that a pair of blackbirds flew angrily around me and protested loudly. I discovered the cause of their behavior shortly afterwards. There was their nest on the tree and they had two eggs in it. I quickly took a photo of the nest, pruned the appropriate branches and quickly left their tree.

While viewing the photo on a PC, I noticed a dark dot on the almost light blue eggshell. At one egg (in the photo below) I noticed a strange "comb" on its side.
It is estimated that the eggs are about 5 cm long and 3 cm wide at the widest point.

I wish you many wonderful moments in fulfilling this challenge and I ask you once again for caution and consideration.

I believe you will find a nest :-). There will probably be a nest without eggs, but maybe birds in southern Africa are building different nests than here in Europe :-)

Searching in the archive may be more complicated than finding a nest in nature :-). Maybe you can find a photo. I wish you success :-)
