La naturaleza en cada estación o periodo nos presenta sus cambios. Los colores y matices nos van hablando de procesos, me parece una metáfora de la vida en cual podemos aprender mucho, entre ello, asumir que los cambios son naturales y que cuando aceptamos esta premisa nuestro transcurrir en la vida se vuelve más fluido y tenemos una mayor disposición para disfrutar lo que vivimos.

Los amigos de @AmazingNature nos convocan a una iniciativa donde podamos mostrar la variedad y el colorido que nos presenta la naturaleza en este momento. Aquí mi participación.

Venezuela, al estar ubicada en la zona intertropical contamos con dos largos periodos uno de sequía y otro de lluvia. Actualmente estamos en el período de sequía. Febrero, marzo y abril son los meses más fuetes. La naturaleza pierde parte de su verdor y en los cerros que bordean la ciudad donde vivo, Maracay, se visten de colores ocres, marrones y amarillos que no dejan de sorprendernos con sus fuetes contrastes.

Hay plantas, como esta, que la sequía es su hábitat perfecto para florecer y abrir su frutos, regalándonos un toque de vida y continuidad aún en el medio más inhóspito.

El centro y zonas subyacentes de la ciudad mantiene mucho de su verdor y, en medio de su variedad, la naturaleza no deja de brindarnos un colorido especial.

Así tenemos por ejemplo esta hermosa cayena color melón intenso. Una variedad que solo he visto en este lugar cercano a la laguna, la más común es la cayena roja, que en esta época del año se encuentra en plena florescencia y van dándole alegría a los patios, calles y avenidas.

Cercano a ella encontré este onoto, cuyos frutos están madurando. El onoto es un arbusto frondoso que mantiene su verdor durante todo el año, sus flores blancas con degradados de morado son muy vistosas y le da un toque muy especial a los lugares.

Su semilla es muy valorada en la cocina tradicional y sus hojas forman parte del herbolario medicinal para afecciones de la garganta.

Por el sector donde realizo mis caminatas diarias, la mayor parte de la vegetación forman parte de los jardines y fachadas aunque siempre se verán plantas silvestres que nos brindan colorido a su paso como el famoso Cariaquito Morado, cuyo nombre científico es Lantana trifolia.

Es un arbusto pequeño cuyas flores, con sus colores pasteles intensos, endulzan el caminar. Acá en nuestra tierra tiene múltiples usos entre ellos los relacionados con la suerte, recomendado a las personas que siente que las cosas no le salen muy bien y que se considera “empavado” la receta es que se haga unos baños con la planta. Algo menos esotérico es su uso para tratar el herpes zoster, mejor conocido como culebrilla y para la cual se usa la semilla madura, de tonalidad morada fuerte y que da el nombre coloquial a la planta.

El tango, una enredadera de alegres flores color anaranjado también se deja ver, aunque sus ramilletes, que tienden a ser frondosos en otras épocas del año, en estos momentos se encuentren salteados no dejan de ser llamativos.

La infaltable trinitaria, la hay en muchos colores, moradas, fucsia, rosada, anaranjada, blancas y esta hermosa combinación que no había visto. De la trinitaria es curioso que según la creencia popular no es buena tenerla en los hogares ya que atrae conflictos (por lo de ser una intricada enredadera), sin embargo, es usada frecuentemente como cerca natural dándoles a la fachada de las casas gran vistosidad.

No podía dejar de mostrarles este hermoso mango cargado de frutos. Será a finales de mayo cuando los encontraremos maduros. La variedad es grande: de hilachas, bocao, de jardín, mangas, pico é loro, también hay a quienes les gusta verde y sazonarlos con sal o adobos preparados.

Su hoja tierna (cogollo) es muy conocida por su uso antiinflamatorio.

Para cerrar les dejo esta foto de una guacharaca macho, me sorprendió que se dejara retratar porque son muy ariscas. De hecho, a mi casa llegan en cantidades a primeras horas de la mañana y al final de la tarde llenando con su algarabía todos los rincones pero nunca he podido tomar una foto medio buena, apenas trato de acercarme un poco, levantan vuelo.
