A random drawing of a "Black Queen Ant".
Greetings Friends!
Today I would like you to see this drawing of a "Black Queen Ant" as part of the insect series I started yesterday. Lately, I've been doing a lot of studies about these species and I'm glad I made out time to do this because I've learnt a lot of things just these few days.
Yesterday, I was able to share part of my studies of the Honeybee and here is the one for today. The image shows a queen ant with wings but one shouldn't count on that as an identifier. Studies have shown that queen ants that have mated will no long have wings and species such as the Army ants don't have wings either.
The queen ant isn't seen around like other ants, she stays in her nest deep in an underground anthills or inside trees. These species do respect royalty just like humans😃, they care, protect and provide all the Queen's needs. I'm glad to have this on my Blog, I do hope you'd love it! 🥰 The image was achieved with pencil, crayons, and a black ball point pen.
